The speech was fine. Will we see action now?

I hope we, the nation, not only is good folks here on BGP, can look at the parts of the speech that we can agree with.

 

He is correct on the fact that IS and others want us all to bicker. No, not one person nor one party has all of the answers.

It has been proven that members of ISIS have used the refugee migration as a way to enter other countries...no reason to think they would try to come to this country the same way. If they are vetted, cleared or aren't a danger (Children and the elderly) then bring them on, I guess. But no one that we can not prove 100% isn't a threat should be allowed in.

President's speech over all was good. He called on Muslims to be part of the solution worldwide, as he should. He said US Forces would hunt down Terrorist where ever they are, sounds great. Talked about making it harder for bad people to get guns, waiting to see what that looks like.

 

There was some political rhetoric and posturing but nothing that wasn't expected.

People on terror lists or no fly lists not being able to buy guns seems like common sense to me... Why isn't that already a restriction?

Which is why we need to basically interrogate them. The vast majority are families, with little kids. I'm not apposed to have everyone take a polygraph test, and not only Syrians or Muslims, but anyone wanting to come here. As you asked in another thread about Israel, I'll even say make the ones who we are suspicion about take a polygraph, just to get in to visit and or get on a US carrier.

We need to work on the list. I know of someone who works at a federal building who had a friend who was on the list by accident, they were able to get there name off the list rather quickly. If we work on it and fine tune it, it can work.

And yes unknown Syrians, you nor I, have any clue about them. They let this women in who they thought they knew.

The last S stands for Syria. The administration funded the Syrian fighters, where ISIS broke away from.

 

Apparently Obama thinks changing the acronym will make that fact go away.

It takes a very unique guy to quote MLK and Adolf Hitler in the same speech.

Same group the L stands for the Levant or the geographic region. Kind of like saying Appalachia instead of including all of KY.

 

I'm sure it has spin on it, but I really don't see where it matters.
