capt278
Because we can't do this alone. We've neither the resources nor the inclination. We have the resources, we have an inept Congress and a POTUS with no stones. We don't have to go it alone but we have to be willing to do it. An air campaign alone will not get the job done. HHSHOG62
Because we can't do this alone. We've neither the resources nor the inclination. Do what alone? The way I see it, when negotiations are being had I would rather have the guy on my side who is going to adamantly pursue his interests and the interests of his state, than someone who is going to sacrifice their interests just for the sake of negotiation. The international community needs the United States support more than the United States needs the international community. The United States has acted as an international police force since WWII, has provided aide in a variety of forms throughout the world and has played a pivotal in nearly every foreign affair since WWII. it is time we use this leverage to our advantage. Obama has failed to do so and it has exposed the United States as being weak. Now, don't get me wrong. I am not suggesting that the United States has the ability to go completely isolationist and survive. You are right, we do not have the ability to survive by cutting ourselves off from the global market. However, we do have the ability to use our global influence to get what we want. I am much more comfortable with Trump knowing when to negotiate, and knowing how to negotiate, that I am with Hillary. bugatti
I dont think there is any question he is going to be the nominee if polls are to be trusted. At this point in 2004 Howard Dean was leading the Democratic polls. In '08 it was Hillary Clinton. In 2008 at this point Rudy Giuliani was leading the polls. In '12 Newt Gringrich was. bugatti
For me that's Ted Cruz. I have no intention of casting a vote for Clinton unless Cruz is the nominee. Cruz has much more potential in this than people are realizing. Assuming Trump falters, he may swoop in to pick up a large chunk of his votes. People keep wondering why all these Republican nominees are still hanging around the race. It is because the powers that be still feel that Trump and Carson have many votes to be captured by others. jericho
Trump is no more dangerous than the person in charge right now. Obama is reckless and has pretty much made America lose what little respect we had from the Bush yrs. Obama has made the ME a hotbed for terrorist and has caused all this turmoil by supporting the Arab Spring in getting rid of Egypt and Libya leaders. They may have been bad guys, but at least they kept them there and somewhat subdued.

bugatti
My lord what is our country coming to if Hilary and Trump are two legitimate options? If those two represent their respective parties then shame on the voters. Also if Trump fails to win the Republican nomination I look for him to run independently. I mean he definitely has the funding, and he has build up such a head of steam I see no reason why he wouldn't want to follow through. I just ask people, do you really want someone like Trump with that much power? I mean I know he gets peoples attention and tells you what you want to hear, but people wake up? Trumps a moron and an idiot, you do not want that guy in the white house. Unfortunately all the other candidates are just as bad and sadly those with some sense and some vision as to how to change things never have enough support. This is what my brother believes. Of all of Trump's flame throwing, he really hasn't gone after Hillary as much you would think. Just after his Republican competitors and finding ways to stir up hysteria. He is convinced he has a deal cut with the Clintons to cause havoc, then drop out and run as an independent to ensure Clinton gets elected. In return, Trump opens up some casinos in Vegas or something.

bugatti
Trump has been banned from St. Petersburg, Fla by the Mayor. Is a Mayor allowed to ban people from his city? Not sure. You can issue trespass notices and restraining orders, but I am not sure what grounds he would be doing this. Then again, Trump's proposals are based upon no legal grounds, so it probably carries the same merit. Is the St. Petersburg Mayor running for election and trying to gain votes? Dlbdonn
I thought Trump would have offended enough Americans by now that he would have fallen way down in the polls. I like that he says what he thinks, which is so different from real politicians, but he lacks any diplomacy skills. I agree with dolomite. There has to be a better choice than Trump or Clinton. But he doesn't think before he talks . George Wallace 2015 .
