Me too. Joey was a good man, a wealth of football information, and a GREAT friend. He he is truly missed by everyone who had the good fortune to know him.

 

I always think of him come playoff time and I will miss visiting with him at the state finals.

There is an empty spot particularly during football season.

There ought to be a chair on press row at the state basketball tournament retired for him. Hang one of those sweaters of his over the chair.

I agree. I sure do miss him. Man did we ever have fun on press row, especially the year Hickey's squad won it in spectacular fashion. He is sorely missed indeed.

Joey was one of my closest friends I have ever met on BGP. Was a great guy,always smiling. Wealth of knowledge. Miss him.

Yes, indeed missed. Most knowledgeable high school sport's mind on this board and his contributions were far reaching.

Yep, he's responsible for dragging me into the BGP basketball abyss, then in turn I dragged PP92 into it, and then he dragged the Parker kid into it. It's a wonderful cycle he started.

I never met him, but certainly miss his contributions to BGP.

Joey was the first major media guy to reach out to me/BGP. I remember after getting off the phone that first time with Joey thinking I/BGP have made it!

Man I miss answering my cell on Friday night to hear..."Hey Fosko here".

 

He is still in my contacts....wonder if I called....

When I was a young buck posting on boards back in the day full of vinegar and regional bias I had several exchanges with ole Westsider.

 

He smacked some common sense into me more than once and I learned to appreciate football and follow it on a state wide scene largely due to having to better prepare myself for his ultimate criticisms HAHA
