Well...the fact that the DeSales players will have to pay 12$ to get into see the 2A final settles that I think.

This issue was hotly debated throughout the season. In an effort to resolve the dispute, a meeting was convened at War Memorial Stadium on Friday, November 27, 2015 allowing each of the dissenting parties an opportunity to provide evidence supporting their positions. At the conclusion of said convention, it was established beyond question that Mayfield does indeed have the best defense in 2a. The matter now stands as settled.

 

Be careful what you say some Desales parent might take it to heart that your belittling their kids...

I think the NCC defense is being drastically undervalued. Their offense has struggled to sustain drives in games this year leaving the defense on the field a majority of the time. The run defense is very good between the tackles and they pursue very well from the linebacker spot.

 

The lone Danville score came from a short field on a muffed punt. The first Danville drive was a good drive but the drive in the waning moments of the game was against a very soft prevent defense that yielded significant "underneath" passing yards. Other than that, Danville struggled to drive the ball, and they are fast!

 

If the Breds can manage to move the ball and not play from bad field position all game long, I don't see Mayfield scoring anywhere near 41 points. However, I'm not sure how NCC's offense will fare against the Cardinals defense.

 

Maybe the posters here underestimate the NCC D, but the coaches and players don't and I can promise you that with the effort that has been put in thus far on practice this week. I noticed on the stats that NCC doesn't throw much and our run D is lights out...

Mayfield is coming to BG to make a statement.

NewCath D is pretty good Lawrence and Tallon are beast. I see the Breds having trouble moving the ball and scoring. Cheering for the Breds but taking Mayfield by 21ish

Have to agree. Our boys have been told for the past few years that they don't play any good teams and they wouldn't be successful if they moved up a class. As you can see everyone has taken that personal. It's no offense to any of the schools in 2a but these kids on a mission to prove a ton of people wrong and NCC is the team standing in their way to silence alot of haters. When I say haters, I'm not referring to bloggers on this topic. I'm referring to ppl in our surrounding area that completely hate our school. That don't wanna see them succeed. I even heard former mayfield players bash the program and say the same thing.

Mayfield has full support from this McCracken County fan! Bring it home Cardinals, always very proud of our friends/family just down the road. I sat in the rain and loved every minute of the semi final game. Work schedule will keep me from Bowling Green, but I will be listening and pulling for you.

I will give you guys this, you guys have great senses of humor. I spent some time chatting with some Mayfield fans after the 2005 state final. Very nice people and I laughed the whole time.

That's because we were laughing to keep from crying.. Not a pretty day in the history of Mayfield Cardinal football, but, we have rebounded well the past few years..

I'm sure people read our posts on here and wish for Mayfield to lose every game. I think most would agree with you if they could meet all of us nut cases.
