In case you didn't hear Jordan got cut from his high school team and had to play church basketball against 40 year old white guys. Not sure if that story is out there or not. Read it on the Internet.

I would hope that all of those players that feel that they were snubbed will prove their worth during the season. A pre-season list does not determine the future.

If he was from Louisville area you wouldn't say this. Come on Man chill out people are just sticking up for the kid no one is saying he is the next Michael Jordan.

Great Post. There was a kid that was ranked 42 in his class last year and he went to D2 on a full ride where about 20 kids who were in front of him went to D3 or NAIA not saying that is Bad just saying just because a kid is not rank higher then kids doesn't mean they ain't that good.

But I also said that I think the list is very good overall - and that coaches' votes are the most accurate way to do this. I don't think anyone on here, other than Doubletake, is saying anything to the contrary.

 

That being said, this is a forum for discussion of things like this. You need not take offense to folks saying this or that player should have made the list. Heck, I'd argue that it's good for you to have your list being talked about. It means it's relevant and taken seriously!

If I'm a player and this list means something to me I'd rather be on the list at the end of the season than at the beginning.

As a friend said today, if you as a player worry about individual rankings, maybe TEAM sports aren't for you.

It would be interesting to see how many coaches from each region voted.

The list is probably as good as you can get right now. I think, however, that it will look quite different when the season is over. There don't seem to be many big names on it, which leads me to believe that many in the top 25 are "soft choices" and that there are a slew of comparable players just below them.
