No doubt about it the better team won this one.

Wes Washpun, had 21 to lead the winners.

Matt Bohannon chipped in with 19.

Lol, you're like a caricature.

Wow! Won the game and get the appearance money too!

Sweet Deal for the Directional Iowans.

Not only that, they got to play the game at home.

Shows how closely I follow college basketball.

So how did Northern Iowa get UNC to go there? Are they going to Chapel Hill the next 23 years to make up for it??

UNC plays in a early season tournament called the CBE Hall of Fame Classic on Monday in Kansas City, so they scheduled a road game not too far from there.

Also, Marcus Paige's hometown is near UNI's campus. Ironically, he's injured and was unable to play.

Well that back fired.

I really hate seeing this.

Unfortunately that means you know who will be #1 this week.

I'd rather they run under the radar a little.

Zero shame in losing this game for UNC, and kudos to them for playing it. Doesn't hurt them for hoops having a loss, and they got a taste of a hostile road environment early. UNI is a solid program, congrats on seizing the opportunity.

Agreed, I heard the rationale for this game from someone this week. It gives the team a true road game against a good team as prep for ACC road schedule.

Ol Roy tends to try and play a game in one of his senior's hometowns. This year, he scheduled Northern Iowa so Marcus Paige could have a homecoming. Unfortunately, Paige is hurt and couldn't play. But I would rather have my team play a true road game than a neutral site anyday.
