I'm not trying to take away from NCC at all, but using the same logic as some others on here...who has NCC actually beaten this season?

I understand your question and concede that NCC didn't do much with the opportunities they've had against the challenging schedule. But just playing a strong schedule allows a team to identify their weaknesses and then devote practice time to addressing them. If you play a soft schedule, these shortcomings may not be identified and addressed.

 

Other than the Boyle County game, Danville hasn't been even remotely challenged. You just don't know if that is because they are so strong or the competition is so bad. Sometimes you can't tell until you get to this point in the season. The one game on Danville's schedule that stands tall to me is the shutout of a Corbin team that is still playing and played Mayfield pretty closely.

 

I may not put a lot of creedence in the 9 week romp the Ads have just finished, but this is a convincing win over a perennially strong program. When two good teams meet this late in the year, it comes down to matchups and which team can exploit them. The wild card being turnovers and of course stupid penalties.

And by the way, I expect Friday to be an incredible football game. I don't think anyone will be "taken to the shed." It'll be a 2-score game or less either way throughout and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it comes down to the last possession.

Fair enough. Let me state that he is worth the hype. He, however, has to maintain focus. Too many penalties for things off the ball. If he keeps his focus, he is the best RB in NKY.

I have and have seen both. He is an excellent player. He also is surrounded by a better group on offense. Teams can't focus in just on him. Being able to stack the box, obviously, affects a RBs ability to get yardage.

Also by the way...Danville has a REALLY good running back, as well. Stephen Ray is very good. I do believe he was the region player of the year.

Who improved more than any running back I have seen throughout one year. Good speed power and has learned a few moves. Best of all he plays all out on offense and defense. Will have his named called many times Friday!

Just watched the Lawrence Hudl video and he's the most aggressive DL with excellent explosiveness that I've seen in a very long time. Is he getting any looks from schools?

 

I believe from some of the locals (Thomas More, Mt. St. Joe), also...I talked with former Cincinnati Bengal and current Cincinnati Christian University head coach, David Fulcher a month or so ago and he has got MaLeek on his radar.

 

Like I said in a thread a month ago......Lawrence, Jack Sudkamp, Brady Thacker and a whole host of other NKY players are only lacking size (height) from getting "big-time" looks/offers.

I like the way NCC sets up their schedule and it prepares them well. And of course it helps this time of year because a lot of people go "oh, 8-5 they must not be that good". Yeah right. They are a top contender every year.

 

And as far as Danville's schedule goes, it might not be as strong as many teams left in the playoffs, and it does come into play when fans are prognosticating, but it doesn't matter to the players on either team. Danville did what they were supposed to do, beat everyone but one very good team, and they are still dancing. Come friday night everyone is 0-0.

Might want to ask Lloyd about the "passing is their weakness on defense".

I disagree with you, they are very inconsistent in the passing game. they did not pass the ball across the line of scrimmage and was sacked 6 times against gallatin and then 2 games later they are throwing the ball all over Lloyd.

No I was saying that the NCC passing defense is not their weakness especially given the last game when they had 3 pick 6s against Lloyd
