90% chance of rain on Friday, which offense will hurt more, Danville or NCC?

 

Agree with thin thirty. Since the Boyle game Danville has really cut down on turnovers. Dampier doesn't throw many balls when he shouldn't and Ray does a pretty good job holding on to the ball. NCC fans, how has NCC played in the rain? For me i don't think it bothers the ads just maybe more running and selective passing.

I meant in relation to their non district schedule. Listen, no argument here, NCC is a strong team, and played a much better schedule, although I think Covington Holy Cross was playing with out one of their best players. I guarantee you Danville will be the best 2a team they will have played to date and are very focused and executing well. LCA was a good team that wanted revenge and Danville beat the brakes off of them. The score could have been 70 or 80 to 0. If Clevenger wanted it that way. NCC may win but it won't be easy.

Lloyd is not in the same uiverse as Danville, I'm going by their season stats on KHSAA and they tell me that NCC weakness on defense is against the pass numbers don't lie.

Lloyd lost that game because a young sophomore QB was put into a position he shouldn't of been put. He's not accurate and knows who he is throwing to as he breaks the huddle no matter if double, triple, or quadruple coverage. He was pressured all night and didn't handle it well at all. To beat NCC just give them a game and they will self destruct with penalties. Stuff the middle and Smith is done. Harris is the one to watch IMO underrated all year...

Penalties haven't been an issue for the Breds for quite a few games. Lloyd lost the game because the Breds were the better team. You gotta give them the credit, they deserve it.

Don't let the bitterness of Lloyd losing to NCC cloud your judgement. And as far as Smith goes you may need to check Smiths highlights again if you think it's that easy to stop him.

From the stats NCC provided the KHSAA Smith was 11 carries for 68 yards and 0 TDs. Lawnboy posted in game post (#58) that 1 run for Smith was for 54 yards. Simple public school math 68-54=14. So Smith had 14 yards on those other 10 carries for a titanic average of 1.4 per carry. So I would say it wasn't to difficult for him to be stopped...

Ok maybe I'll make it easier for you to understand. If someone gives them a challenge or makes it tough on them they do have problems with penalties. You are probably right that they haven't had to much competition in the playoffs so they haven't had problems with penalties. You look back at the teams who give them a game and they have self destructed. They get chippy, mouthy, down right dirty. Whatever you want to call it. I guarantee you that if Danville comes out and gives them a hard way to go the problem will rear its ugly head. They were the better team, had the better game plan,coaching and executed much better than Lloyd did last week.

Smith only played 2 and half qtrs.

Your basing that on one game, in which NCC'S Defense dominated the game and spent more time on the field than their offense. I hope Danville comes into this game and takes your advice, it will be a long game for them and even a longer ride home.

Not sure I guess it would favor NCC most because they have a power running game, unless the slick ball causes them to fumble. Danville has played in several rain games and it didn't seem to bother them.

 

I thought Danville looked fine a few weeks ago in heavy rain. Didn't seem to slow them down at all.

Harris is good but please, he is not close to Smith. Jacob Smith is a legitimate D1 prospect and one of the best RB in the state.

Danville beat a semifinal team from 3A and stomped (I mean absolutely dismantled) LCA.

Yeah those are the only two games I have seen NCC in person. Go back and read ALL the posts by NCC fans have left on BGP that state "stupid penalties are killing us". Stats are what they are stats! Are you telling me that Smith had that more yards than stated? Yeah he went out in the 3rd quarter, maybe he was injured or maybe he was frustrated. He slammed the ball down a couple of times after he was stuffed. Lloyd didn't seem to have a problem stopping him...

NCCs defense did dominate the game on a sophomore QB. That is a fact, can't deny it. If Danville comes and and takes my advice NCC will have a lot longer ride back to the lockeroom than Danville will have. If I am giving such bad advice to Danville why would you be arguing about it?
