I know this is a left wing, liberal website and not a fair and balanced website that is usually the norm on here but is this true? The governors can't block the refugees from coming? Is this like a Kim Davis issue since state governments can't overrule federal rulings?

So basically we just have a lot of governors huffing and puffing but none are going to blow the house down. Nothing like some good old pandering.

I don't know exactly whether they can or not. But I'm not sure it would matter either way. If they are allowed into the country they are allowed into the country. Once here, what exactly keeps them from moving around freely?

 

The last time i went to NYC no one stopped me at the bridge and asked who I was or where I was coming from...

I will bet most people do not want the refugees here at this point given the current situation. Would be willing to bet 90% would be against it. If this goes wrong its a nightmare, but its a political disaster for anyone who supports it. Had a long time democrat tell me today he is changing his party and believes the current administration is working to sabotage our country. :eek:

The reason so many governors (up to 30 something now?) that are against this is because they are getting deluged with phone calls/emails from their citizens saying they don't want this. You can call it pandering to their constituents or listening to the people who voted them in...depending on your point of view.

 

They also probably want to be on record as being against Obama's refugee policy because if one of the refugees does come here and kill a bunch of people, they will look really foolish if they supported the policy.
