November 18, 201510 yr What's always popular ain't always right? Civil rights wasn't popular in Alabama. Abolition wasn't popular in the South. Colonial Revolution wasn't popular in England. Jesus wasn't popular in Jerusalem.
November 18, 201510 yr Author The reason so many governors (up to 30 something now?) that are against this is because they are getting deluged with phone calls/emails from their citizens saying they don't want this. You can call it pandering to their constituents or listening to the people who voted them in...depending on your point of view. They also probably want to be on record as being against Obama's refugee policy because if one of the refugees does come here and kill a bunch of people, they will look really foolish if they supported the policy. I get that. I just find it interesting that the US has taken on 784K refugees since 2001 but now it is an issue. I also find it interesting that people blame the current administration for refugees that haven't gotten here yet even though the next administration will be allowing refugees into the US just like all past administrations have. #rockthevote

November 18, 201510 yr Author Yep...but this is "Obama's refuge policy," don't you know? Yeah, I keep forgetting. His policy and he made his advisors give him faulty information so he could go out and make a fool of himself in front of the whole world. That damn Obama.

November 18, 201510 yr But it's legal for sanctuary city's to not enforce federal laws? How is this different? I'm wondering that myself. Who is paying the living expenses of the refuges? What type of burden, if any does this place on the state & local governments?
