Cam’s dancing is causing way too much consternation

“My [nine-year-old] daughter . . . started asking questions,” Rosemary Plorin of Nashville wrote to Cam. “Won’t he get in trouble for doing that? Is he trying to make people mad? Do you think he knows he looks like a spoiled brat? I didn’t have great answers for her, and honestly, in an effort to minimize your negative impact and what was otherwise a really fun day, I redirected her attention to the cheerleaders and mascot.”

So, in other words: “Honey, don’t watch the bad man who is fully clothed. Look instead at the scantily clad women who aren’t really leading any cheers.”

Predictably, Panthers coach Ron Rivera has no problems with Cam’s celebrations. “As long as I don’t feel he’s instigating things, I don’t think there should be issues,” Rivera told reporters on Monday, via ESPN.com.

Just as predictably, Titans interim coach Mike Mularkey does. “I think that’s a little rub-it-in-your-face type of deal, and there is a little code of ethics in the NFL and not a good move,” Mularkey said.

Here’s the reality. The so-called No Fun League, which fines guys for eye-black messages and flags guys who ride the ball like a horse or throw it into the stands or pretend to take a nap with it, has no problem with Cam’s celebrations. So if the No Fun League is fine with it, why should anyone have a problem with it?

Did The Dab two more times for good measure.

Had (and have) absolutely no problem with the initial dance. You want to stop it? Keep him out. Pure and simple.

However, that being said, when the Titan's player came over and Cam did it again...then I had a problem with it. Then (to me) it became less of "let me celebrate what I just did" and became more of a "screw you" directed at a specific player. No difference than going out of your way to spike the ball in a defender's direction, in my opinion. But, I realize I'm probably in the minority of this.

I would have to see the video but a Titans player has no business coming anywhere near Cam (or any other NFL player) when they are celebrating a TD.

That is the real problem in this situation.

Guess I'll be the one to say it... Sure Cam can celebrate, but in the eyes of the opposing team it was too drawn out.

In case Cam hasn't been paying attention, the NFL is full of "unbalanced" people. If he does it to the wrong guy or team, he's just asking for some cheap shots especially being a running QB.

I've been around many current and former NFL players and I've heard many stories about how they think about being respected and disrespected...

I like Cam too, but won't shock me if he gets taken out with dirty hits and late contact at some point if he keeps it up.

That doesn't make it right on the part of the perpetrator, but there are many guys that will do it if an opportunity arises.

I get and have no problem with Avery Williamson's reaction. I'd probably react the same way.

With that said, I loved Cam's comeback move after Avery got in his face. Made me laugh.
