Wireman, Elliott will use more than 6. They will play 7 strong, and use 2 others for limited time. Like most previous they are guard heavy, but do have more big bodies this year.

8. 6'3 Sophmore Jonathon Morgan- Nice touch around the basket but extremly timid.

9- 6'2 Sophmore Dustin Gilliam- Still devolping but a huge body inside, weighs probabley 280 but very athletic for his size.

 

That lineup does look pretty good on paper.

The word around the Huntington Y is the reason ROBINSON didn't stay at scott co. is his father got a job at MARATHON OIL REF. I have heard that he has worked this past year playing ball everyday and that his ability to shoot outside and to drive to the basket will do nothing but help whoever he plays for .WHATS THE MATTER GOLIATH ARE YOU AFFRAID OF A LITTLE HEALTHY COMPETITION.

Thats what I thought. He seems like an average player, I dont think he will much of an impact.

From all reports this summer Robinson will help the Devils.

I'm sure everyone at Rose Hill will join me in wishing Austin the very best. Hopefully, he will have a stellar senior year and be a real asset to the Russell team.

 

It was mentioned that Austin was at Rose Hill during the Mayo "fiasco". That is partially true. However, I would hasten to add that, in light of the excitement and nationwide coverage that boys's basketball in this area received during that time and in light of the complete lack thereof in the years prior to and since that "fiasco", this area could use another "fiasco" or two to add some spice to the competition and greenbacks to the coffers of the region.

It was still a fiasco, like it or not.

Wasn't it BlakeRobinson who played with O.J.? By the way, in my humble opinion, whether it was a 'fiasco' or not, it sure was fun to watch!! Also, for what it's worth, I took my little boy over to Fairview to watch Russell scrimmage a few weeks ago and all the boys (I don't know their names) looked pretty good to me! But then again, football is my game...

It was a fiasco to a couple of our local schools and their followers. It was a special time for most of the others. It was a great moneymaker for all- including those who saw it as a fiasco and didn't participate during the regular season. The overall excitement, intensity, and competition was never better and all that publicity didn't hurt either.

 

Austin Robinson came to Rose Hill as an eighth grader and played on the undefeated state champion middle school team. OJ, also an eighth grader at the time, played only with the varsity. Blake Robinson did not come to Rose Hill until after OJ had departed for Cincinnati.

It was a fiasco to a couple of our local schools and their followers. It was a special time for most of the others. I agree, Morgan County could have easily have gone those two years, but didnt they also bring in a kid from out of the country for one of those years?

The complaint of "out of state" rings a little hollow when you bring an "out of country" player in who took a starting spot from the home grown boy and might have caused a chemistry issue that kept you from beating Rose Hill?

Who knows, but I agree, the Morgan County fans are first class.

I think anytime Johnson Arena is over capacity that it definately must be a fiasco - or maybe a graduation.

Financially, I believe all of our area schools could use a few more fiascos like in 2001-2002 and 2002-2003.

 

As for attendance, MSU graduations don't draw near as well as did the primetimers.
