Everybody back and the addition of Austin Robinson makes Russell clear cut.

Just as I saw Morgan as the favorite the year following their Regional title, I think the same position has to be afforded Russell. They have the core of the team that won the championship returning, so in my opinion, they should be the team to beat. I don't see them as "head and shoulders" above the rest of the Region, but they certainly have the upper hand going into the season (in my opinion).

I don't see how eveyone see's Russell as the clearcut favorite when Ashland beat them in the last game of the regular season. Ashland also beat Elliot Co. during the reg. season. Elliot doesn;t realize how much they will miss Weddington. I don't see a clearcut fav. betweenthese three teams this yr.

I agree with you totally! Russell will be in the hunt to repeat but that is hard to do and Ashland with Drew McDavid, Matt Thomas, and the Bonner kid , with a healthy Wilcox have a great shot as well, plus the new excitement of brand new coach the Tomcats could just scratch their way to Rupp! Elliott Co. also will be tough with the twins, Ferguson, and Maynard. I also think these 3 teams are 1 injury away from being right in the middle of the pack.

Like Blue Blazer, I think Ashland and Elliot will have something to say about who goes to Rupp, but I think you have to begin considering Rose Hill as a legitimate contender this year as well.

They are still young, but they certainly have some talent, along with size and skills. Good team, and if anyone takes them for granted, they can turn it into a long night for an opponent.

Best player in region (Vanhoose) + deep experience + good coaching= BACK TO BACK TRIPS TO RUPP

Will VanHoose senior be back on the bench with Dodd, Adams, and company?

You never can tell. Senior Hoose on bench or in the radio booth?

Will Adams be back quacking on the sideline?

I have confirmed that Jeff Davis will not be. He has joined the fiesty Trent Steiner at Simon Kenton.

Again I remind you that 1 injury, and they are middle of the pack! There several of the good coaches in the sixteenth as well! Remember IF the Thomas Tolliver three at the buzzer that hit off the rim last year goes in Russell doesn't get to Morehead! I just saying that it takes 4 wins to get to Rupp! 1 district and 3 region! Russell was 0-3 vs. Greenup Co. last year! It takes alot to win the 16th. Russell has a great shot to repeat, but there are alot of teams that will compete with them. Coach Dodd's style much like Randy Ward's allows opponents to hang around some also.

Tolliver's off balance runner? IF a frog had wings it could fly.

Russell really had no tight games in Morehead last year.

Russell has dominated this summer and the addition of Robinson just makes them stronger.

Morgan will miss Chris Trusty if he is not on staff.

My peeps have told me he could be next AD at Morgan.

Vanhoose will sign the best scholarship write it down.

Vanhoose will sign the best scholarship write it down.

Doesn't mean he's the best player - just ask Mr. Basketball last year if he was the best player in the state.

I'd say that there's an excellent chance that the best basketball scholarship signed this year may very well be on the girls' side of the ledger...

I look for Queen, Terry, and Fortman to all sign D1 scholarships with Okoro having the option of hoops or track.
