I think Highlands should win, but have a weird feeling that the Colonels will, even with playing in Ft. Thomas. I think it will be very close for whoever wins. Good luck to both teams.

5th time in a row that Highlands and Cov Cath have met in the third round. I don't know how many times they have met in this round in history, probably a lot.

 

When they met during the regular season it was kind of an ugly showing for both teams. This time it they will be playing a lot better. Should be a fun one to watch!

Question for someone who has been watching Highlands games closely:

In general, how would you say the percentage breakdown would be for rushing game production between Kendall, Pulsfort, Murray and Hergott?

 

For instance, it seems like its 50% Kendall, 20% Murray, 20% Pulsfort, and 10% Hergott. Is that accurate?

Bearing in mind that there have generally been a smattering of other rushers each game, the fact that Murray & Hergott have each not played for one game, and just comparing the four guys you mentioned to one another:

 

Kendall: Rushed 177 times for a total of 1117 yards. He accounted for 48% of the rushing attempts and 54% of the rushing yards between the four.

 

Murray: Rushed 53 times for a total of 410 yards. He accounted for 14% of the rushing attempts and 20% of the rushing yards between the four.

 

Pulsfort: Rushed 58 times for a total of 431 yards. He accounted for 16% of the rushing attempts and 21% of the rushing yards between the four.

 

Hergott: Rushed 82 times for a total of 108 yards. He accounted for 22% of the rushing attempts and 5% of the rushing yards between the four.

Looks like the Birds rushing game in the earlier meeting was held in check. I think it comes down to Daugherty's foot in this one. He had an uncharacteristically off Day kicking FG's last time. I think this one could go to OT.

When it comes to Math, I'm not Good Will Hunting. I like the graphic, but based on your numbers, you may want to re-add Murray and Pulsfort.

Panda, do you think the casual Covcath fans will turn out for this game? Ive seen years where they come in mass expecting a win and they leave disappointed shortly after half time. I've seen years where they know they're going to give up 60-70pts and they don't bring a crowd. After the first game, at home, against a Highlands team that was struggling at the time, they still lost. Highlands is playing much better now. If I'm a fair weather Covcath fan, convince me why I should think this time will be any different. What's the definition of insanity?

Let's just say if you are a Cov Cath fan you will be at this game. Casual fans don't exist.
