Come on GT you are better than that. Right or wrong the QB get the glory and the blame. This isn't new for Dalton.

 

I'm a Dalton fan. But his numbers in those 4 losses are below average at best. I don't personally blame him only. But he does deserve some blame. But I'm confident this is the year he makes the next step.

Has gotten a lot of flack for disappearing in some big games. Even ones where the OC at the time (Gruden) used him as a decoy an entire half of a playoff game and intentionally didn't have Dalton throw to him.

 

Show me the outrage when he signed his big deal. When Dalton signed I thought you needed the men in white coates at your door. I'll be waiting...

That doesn't make the narrative any less lazy. The Bengals as a whole have been bad in the playoff game each of the last four years. Andy, along with pretty much everyone on the roster have not been good enough.

He's been a middle of the league QB for most of his career. Some stretches he's been better, some he's been worse. Today wasn't his best day, but he still put the dagger in the Steelers to close it out while Ben barfed all over the field...

Again, you should pay better attention. Dalton has been getting MVP talk this season from a lot of the talking heads around the country. I'd say that is some pretty good glory talk.

That pass Dalton made on 3rd and 2 to AJ down the right sideline late in the game was beautiful -- and if it is incomplete Hue Jackson is an idiot.

 

I have never been in an update thread because I like enjoying the game and not posting on every turn. I've never been accused of being cowardly, and honestly, that is an interesting connection.

 

Dalton's end zone interception was bad. Happens. However, Eifert's drop on 3rd and 6 in the first half, and the o-line being equal parts inept and penalty-stricken early on, certainly didn't help.

 

7-0, I don't care how it looked, I just know that Dalton led another 4th quarter comeback against a solid club.

I agree with your sentiment. I was just pointing out it isn't like Andy is the first nor will he be the last QB judged this way. Fair or not.

 

I live out of town and watch the games in bars with people who aren't Bengals fan. This narrative isn't a Bengals fan thing , it's the same with all fans. I get ridiculed anytime Dalton makes the slightest mistake.

 

I personally think there have only been a handful of qbs in history with his success so early and the criticism seems silly. But the only way it can go away is to win.
