Bengals 16 Steelers 10

You're totally delusional if you don't think he was in full-on Bad Andy Choke-Mode after that second pick (in less than a 3-minute span IN THE 4TH QUARTER). Don't act like you've never seen that movie before.

He got the ball back with 5:34 to go down 3 and led an admirable drive, but only because all the pressure was taken off of him by the defense. You can't not go out and win that game after what the defense did there, and really, all he needed was a FG there and play the attrition game, because the Steelers couldn't score.

Sorry Jim, I think you're the one being delusional here. The second interception was a better punt than what Huber would've done the very next play.

Here is the thing about Dalton.I was basically done with Dalton this whole off season because of how he has always looked horrible in big moments or games. In the past in these games even when he had time he would just flat out suck. Today he had pressure on him all day and yet he still made throws when it mattered and made throws when he did have time. In the past he wouldnt be able to do that after being pressured all day. Even just the look and demeaner still seemed better today even in the end. That is why I don't agree with the Dalton sucks comments that was all in the update thread. Was it a great game by him like the rest this year, nope. A lot of it had to do with poor pass protection. He can't make that interception in the end zone, but I don't think that had to do with choking or feeling the pressure. It was just a basic football play that he made a poor read on thinking the guy would be wide open. They didn't win the game because of him, but didn't win the game despite of him like many other times in the past. He was not great but not horrible either.

Honestly, the INT in the EZ wasn't even that bad a play on Dalton's part. Blake just made a great play.

All I've been arguing all along is that the bad breaks were getting in Dalton's head. The second INT wasn't really on him either (OK, somewhat, as it was into double coverage). But those kind of bad breaks get into the head of a player who has shown an aptitude for struggling in the clutch in the past.

A quarterback who has had a litany of problems in his career in pressure-filled games probably wasn't thinking about the big picture in terms of flipping the field. He was thinking about how he once again blew it in a big game.

Again, I know you're far from the only one that says this stuff about Dalton... But exactly what was his problem when the Bengals won in Pitt to knock the Steelers out of the playoffs?

As I recall, Ben threw a bad INT and Dalton made a clutch throw to Green to set up a game winning field goal...

Does that mean Ben crapped himself?

It was so in his head he led them down the field for a game-winning TD the next possession. Give me a break.

Still not getting my big-picture point into how the INT affected Dalton's psyche at the time. He wasn't thinking, "Oh wow, my INT actually was better than a punt" when it happened. He was thinking, "Here we go again."

The good thing for Bengals fans in the short-term and long-term is that he was bailed out and got a chance to redeem himself, instead of having to come back out mentally scarred and trying to win the game down 6 or 10 after back-to-back INTs in less than a 3-minute span IN THE FOURTH QUARTER, WHEN HIS TEAM NEEDED HIM THE MOST.

You know what? You're obsession with exaggeration I think is the problem

With you. I just read the update thread and not only was everyone in there dead in correct on everything that was posted at the time of the game it was happening but there were only 2 sucks comments made THAYS RIGHT ONLY 2 and they were made after each Int and both at key times of the game.

You act as if every post had "Andy Sucks" posted in them. So not only your exaggeration about how you think you are right about everything couldn't be further from the truth but your take on the update thread couldn't be more wrong either.

So do us a favor and quit already. You are tiresome at best.

Also please stop with "what you thought about Dalton" in every post you make. You have told us all "what you thought about Dalton" in every post for the last 5 years. We know that he has had problems in big games, we know he has struggled in every playoff game, we know that this team will go as far as Dalton takes them, we know that he needs to make better decisions on the big stage. We all know that, you telling us what we already know in every post for 4+ years is likenfinger nails in a chalk board. We get it, Andy needs to play great for us to go deep in the playoffs. I think we've all figured that out LONG Ago.

A quarterback who has had a litany of problems in his career in pressure-filled games probably wasn't thinking about the big picture in terms of flipping the field. He was thinking about how he once again blew it in a big game.

Now you know what he's thinking? Stop the stupidity...

That's rich...

Yes, totally. However, he's shown himself over the course of his career to be in possession of a much firmer mental fortitude than one Andy Dalton. I have a lot more faith in him bouncing back than I would if Dalton were my team's QB.

Now you know what he's thinking? Stop the stupidity...

Is observation not what I do for a living? Like you, all I can do is make my best observation and hazard a guess. Andy's given me a lot of evidence over the years.

Where your observation fails miserably is that if he was harping on that, he goes down in full flames and doesn't lead a TD drive on the next series. You are adding 1+1 and getting 235...

Skip Bayless does observation for a living. He's almost always wrong. You are entering that territory here...

Heck of a big difference taking over down 3 at the opponent's 45 than down 6 or 10 and wherever they might have taken over deep in their own territory had Ben not gagged. It would've been interesting to see how Andy handled that situation coming back out after two dagger INTs. Obviously, he didn't have to worry about that thanks to his defense.

They were down 4. Had to have a TD there or it was over. Did you observe that wrong???

I'll go ahead and copy this since it's relevant.
