That's what I was saying, even if he could pitch legally in the finals he would have very little left. And if you don't win the first game, there is no second game. Huge comeback win for the Tigers!

Actually, the tying run was going to score even if Gilliland had fielded the ball cleanly. The bobble allowed the runner to move from second to third and then home after the throw got away from the third baseman.

 

Neither the pitcher nor catcher were in position to corral the ball after it got away from the third baseman. The ball rolled toward the on-deck circle and both players were on the baseline.

 

 

Agreed, and it was very heads up baserunning that got the winning run across. To win a state championship all the pieces of the puzzle have to fall in place and Beechwood found a key puzzle piece in this come from behind win.

I think you have to go with Curley against PRP. They are probably a better hitting team than Lex. Cath. and St. X so throw your best against the best. Myerhoff has played the cards right so far so I guess we have to sit back and wait. Good win for the Tigers on Thursday night!

I didnt say that because they won't. There is a difference between hitting and scoring. PRP will "hit" whoever BW throws and it is up to BW to make the plays. PRP will get enough "scoring" to win this game.

They could look at Cliff Hagan field as well for flexibility. Play 2 games there and 2 games at Applebees on the first day/night so everyone is playing their 1st round on the same day/night. Then it's fair for all the kids - that is the goal, right?

All four quarterfinal games can easily be played in one day at Applebee's Park, weather permitting. I think the feeling is that it would hurt attendance, though, having two games during the day.

 

I think fans would like to be able to see all four first-round games instead of having to pick and choose which park to visit. Keeping the entire tournament at one location is best for all involved.

Boyds Moore also threw an excellent game. You have to realize that Moore was also throwing 83,84,85,87 in this game. That makes it tough for anyone to hit well. I dont think Beechwood could hit someone like that as well as they did the guy throwing 73 for Christian CO. That makes a difference. PRP is FOR REAL. I am a diehard Boyd COunty Fan, but Cox would have done what he did last night to anyone in the tourney. I saw it with my own eyes. PRP may beat Beechwood in 5 innings.
