Is Tricia Macke the Boys Head Freshman Coach at Covington Holy Cross

Featured Replies

I am hearing that she is now the Boys Head Freshman Basketball coach at Holy Cross. Is this for real? I guess she wasn't welcomed at Highlands when she wanted to Coach the Freshman there. Quite honestly I don't blame Highlands. I'm assuming by being the Head Coach, that's one way to Control her Situation. And by her situation, I mean being to Control all decisions that are made by being the head coach and being able to Attract a few of her AAU players that play for her and play who she wants on the Court. Insert Son! Doesn't her son now go to Holy Cross but grew up in Ft Thomas?

My sources tell me that her son 1st never told anybody at Highlands that he was leaving and why he couldn't attend Summer Basketball workouts. Tricia was Quoted that she didn't believe in HS Summer Off Season workouts and that AAU was more challenging for the Athlete. That's weird, her son was seen on multiple occasions up at NCC working out during the Summer and was even was rumored that her son was enrolled at NCC with Tuition paid only to Cancel the Check in the 11th hour. Wow!

I wonder why he(she) chose to withdraw after working out with them the entire Summer season? Maybe NCC was as smart as Highlands and wanted no part of her "Situation" So off to the next Catholic school where she might have a shot. Congratulations Holy Cross, you just landed a Gem!

Sounds like Holy Cross is the winner to me. These type things happen more than we think. Parent wants the child in the best position for success. Are you saying this is about the parent and not the kid? Again, happens everyday. This case just happens to be with a high profile parent.

Confirmed that she is the boy's freshman head coach at Holy Cross, where her son now attends.

She's tried bringing in some big name player's, and their brother's from the 9th/10th region, only to swing and miss on those kids staying at their current schools. She did get one, Ty Houston who went to Woodland (Scott HS feeder) but his parents have strong ties to Holy Cross I believe.

Don't know if I was a coach if I'd want her associated with my program.

I think that's exactly what he is saying! Serious question, why would they leave Ft Thomas with what they have going on with Academics & Facilities and go to arguably one of the Worst Facilities in NKY. The Cons will outweigh the Pros here any way you want to try to spin it. Not hating just Wondering....There has to be a different Motive here. Why not just go to NCC where she graduated from? Just mind boggling in my opinion. Good luck Holy Cross....

I believe that Troy Houston is Tricia's assistant! This is starting to be comical...

Good Luck to HC. If that's the case as to her being head coach, then what happens next year when her son moves up a grade. Is she going to continue to move up. With her motherly duties of following her children, I'm guessing she will not be satisfied of not watching him continue his high school career. So probably a one and done coaching job.

Doesn't she have other children that transferred as well? If so, oh boy. That will be fun for all involved. If I remember correctly of another incident, someone "threatened" to move their kids if they didn't get playing time, and they were shown the door. Maybe even given a ride to the next school. Hate parents like this. Now we know why the kids act like they do. Been put on that stool their whole life and told how great they are. Ribbons for everyone! Yea!

....

Boy, Tricia sure has brought out the venom from the Fort Faithful.

Hope she does great at Holy Cross, and that she helps Ryan build a great program in Latonia.

Me too! If that's her reasoning!

Again good luck to all involved.

I guess my other Mind Boggling question is, why didn't Tricia's other Child not attend a Holy Cross feeder school and attend there from the 1st day of school? As stated by another poster last week that it was a coincidence that they waited until the day after Basketball tryouts to Withdraw from Highlands and Enroll in Covington Somewhere. Just Crazy! That girl now plays for the Holy Cross Girls program as an 8th grader.

Whatever, if they all would of ended up at NCC where they would of succeeded quite nicely this would be a Mute point wouldn't it? Why Holy Cross?

Mommy Ball???? Seriously? That’s like coaching rec ball so your kid can touch the ball on every possession!

...

Lots of questions that no one here can answer, I'd suggest anyone that wants answers just ask her: [email protected]

Noted! Like I said, not hating just curious why not NCC?
