What's wrong with this team? The Junior class was really good when they were 8th graders. They were suppose to be really good this year with all the running backs they had returning.

They lost Tom Larkey...They need Adam Coleman as their coach.

Big difference between 8th grade and varsity football.

I agree...People forget Adam was at Rockcastle for years with Larkey and then left to take over the Berea Pirates. He averaged 4 or 5 wins at Berea for goodness sake. If he could win there he can win ANYWHERE...plus like I said he played and coached there before.

So did every coach there I think.

You can't compare middle school to high school period. I also think lack of speed has hurt Rock for a while. Those teams in in 01 and 02 had exceptional size to make up for that lack of speed.

McClure, Lovell, Rowe have more speed than most teams there.

Team speed isn't the issue we haven't played a team all season that Lovell McClure or Rowe couldn't out run. Lovell has broke big TD runs all year an no one caught him. We were expected to win at least 7-8 games only exception would have been 5A Pulaski (should win 5A championship) 2A Danville (Should win 2A championship) we have lost to teams we should have beaten Garrad county ( had the chance to win but lost 20-8.. Had 3-4 possession stall including 2 inside 5 yard line an one other fumbled in red zone) Somerset 21-20 loss had TD fumbled in end zone including 4 other Turnovers.. Poor playing calling..Wayne county 21-13 loss poor play calling and once again turn overs not to mention Lovell did not play second half used running backs that normally do t even run the ball and QB went out in 4th.. Knox Central down 20-13 @ half then let poor play calling including a 4th an 1 with 8 minute left only to punt.. The moral of what is wrong with Rockcastle football is that when Tom Larkey left everything has not even been half the same. 1 decent winning season of 9-3 an the rest have been horribly bad. Change is needed @ The Rock and everyone in the county knows where that change needs to start at and has known for quiet a while but for some be known reason it doesn't appear it will and that is really a disappointment for the players .. Players parents .. And the fans..

Is Dalton Rowe Healthy yet? That kid can play!

He didn't play first 6 games played week 7-8 am last week but prior to last week game against Knox central he re-injured his shoulder at practice but still play in the Knox central game some but not A lot hopefully by first round of playoffs he will be able to go

My experiences with Coach Parkey have all been positive. He knows the game. He cares about Rockcastle County football because it is his home and he has so much invested. He had the guts to follow a legend and weather the storm when talent has been thin. I don't know a perfect head coach out there. But, Coach Parkey has a lot of positives in his corner. In my opinion, I think the school, program, & kids are fortunate to have him. I feel so strongly about that, I don't mind signing my name.

Who did they beat in 8th grade that makes you say that? Their conf isn't generally very strong.

I saw Rockcastle play at Garrard... I don't know where all this speed you guys are talking about was.

 

As far whether or not Rock should have beaten Garrard, they didn't, so it is hard to argue they should have. Good news is, Rock will get another shot next year.

How much did Tony Saylor retiring play a part? Wasn't he there as long as Larkey was?
