I can see where everyone is coming from however even tho we have been competive and on the road losses have occurred this has been the same results that have happened during the coach Parkey entire coaching career at Rockcastle.

Not looking at scores, but rather looking at what I've seen and what I know about teams, the only game Rockcastle lost that they probably should have won was Somerset. Danville and Pulaski have much better talent. Knox Central, Wayne County, and Garrard County were all competitive games for Rockcastle, but I believe part of the reason they lost is because they aren't as talented.

 

Missing a key player for most of the year obviously hurt them. And I believe they are stacked with juniors (maybe only two seniors?) so they should be much better next season. One thing I noticed is all of their 50/50 games were on the road and they lost each of them. Perhaps the team isn't good enough or experienced enough to go on the road and get those wins? On the flip side, having those games at home next year with a senior dominated team should mean good things for Rockcastle.

The only reason people are writing on here in support of Rockcastle Co. is because for the entire time Larkey was there they didn't lose many games. Now people beat Rockcastle Co. SO YES...keep Parkey so teams can keep beating Rockcastle.

Teams used to be afraid to play Rockcastle when Larkey was coaching an now that Parkey is the coach we find ourselves as everyone homecoming or senior night game. It's time that we get back to the 21 straight years of winning seasons that Larkey provided for us an end all the losing that Parkey has done

Guess according to you then losing is totally fine let me guess your in favor of handing out trophies to everyone even when they lose. If your a supporter of Parkey then that must be your mind set well face it pass out a petition letting those who support Parkey an think he is doing a great job sign it bet you would be shock to see that 75 percent or more of Rockcastle would not sign it. People have went to Athletic department demanding change and even superintendent

If you have done all that then all you are accomplishing here is to embarrass the county. I played there for Larkey as well. My opinion is just as valid as yours. Mine is probably more valuable though since I coached with Larkey too. Things are not the same and they never will be again.

So if you played an coached with Larkey then there is no way you can sit there an say you are ok with Parkey as a coach and support him knowing good and well that over half these losses over his 8 year tenure is due to bad coaching and play calling. After 21 season of wins how can you expect to accept losing?

I understand that, but he is also basing it off of TWO games, without seeing any of the other 8 teams on Rockcastle's schedule. Even for a coach, that is a small sample size.

 

No no you are correct. The statement I made was actually based on seeing them a couple of times each year for the last half dozen or so. Our conversation centered around what you get out of the kids you have. My friend has never said they should win 8 or 9 a year either. His whole point is that for the players they have, in his opinion, they underachieve almost every year. As I have also said I do not know any of the teams coaches. They may be a group of coaches who you would let babysit your kids or grandkids, I don't know. I'm just saying from the last several years watching their teams perform on the field why would you expect anything in the future to be different as far as wins and losses.

I have a great deal of respect for Tom Larkey. We tried very hard to hire him at Knox Central before Wayne Mills. However, Rock was already beginning to slide before he left. Things are different now. Their only real district hurdle for years was Bell Co. but the district is much stronger now. Still, having seen Rockcastle last week, I think they are on an upswing that has been slowly coming for the past two or three seasons. I think if you give it just a bit more time Rockcastle will again challenge for championships. However, the days of dominating year after year are over.
