If Collins is ranked in the top 10, is Class 4A really that weak? Just sayin

 

After the top 3-4, it's not all that strong. Collins has been really inconsistent, partly due to their youth, but I think their strength of schedule is what has put them at the #10 spot. And their impressive win against Franklin County.

 

I could definitely understand ranking Wayne over Collins, even with their weak schedule, but who else would be deserving of that spot?

I would bet there is some teams ranked above Wayne Co. that hopes they don't have to play them In tournament.

I would put Franklin- Simpson at number 10 over Collins, with losses to Caldwell County ( 8-1 ), Greenwood ( 7-1 ), South Warren ( 8-0 ), and Allen County- Scottsville ( 4-5 ). Only 1 bad loss to Allen County

IMO Collins' best win (Franklin County 23-0) easily trumps the best win of Franklin-Simpson (Monroe County 21-14), and I think their worst loss is pretty close to equal (with Collins losing to Eastern 49-44).

 

I'm really surprised at the heat that people are putting on Collins while not really questioning Franklin County. If you think Collins doesn't belong, what does it say about Franklin County taking that loss?

For one I think Collins is dangerous and I do t think anyone wants to play them in the playoffs. I could be wrong but don't think so. They play good D and if they cut down on turnovers and over come adversity then watch out. Even the year they won it, they lost to some of these same teams.

Right now Shelby has one good win vs. Spencer. Otherwise their wins have come against very weak competition. Also, if the Rockets beat Collins you can argue the Titans really aren't deserving of a Top 10 spot anyway. I don't think they move up with a win over Collins.

The award? Rankings are just peoples opinions. I wouldn't consider that as an award. The prize goes to the last team standing.

Nah, I like the underdog role. I don't care where my TCats are ranked, all I care about is bringing home the hardware.

The big difference I see between JC and SW and the rest of 4A is both those defenses are ferocious. The offense in all teams in the top ten have great stats and have shown they can score. But defensively, you just cant do it against those two teams.

Hopkinsville may have the 3rd best defense in 4A and I think they would get beat handily by either SW or JC, just because they wouldn't be able to score on either of those two teams, even if their defense played spectacular, they would lose by at least 2 tds, probably more.

 

I don't see Ashland winning against JC. They would be lucky if they scored even 2 td's against them considering only one team has done that all year.

It should be a great one, Putnam stadium will be in rare form Friday night. I just hope both teams survive this one injury free. Thanks for the good wishes.
