Did Chuck Smith get outcoached by Lexington Catholic?

Featured Replies

Believe what you want. Evidence will reveal otherwise.

So you are saying that they had no shot at playing on Sundays if Chuck didn't coach them?

The most frustrating part is that Lexington Catholic won yet again with a aerial attack filled with long balls and bombs to JJ. Josey left a lot to be desired from the qb spot and the receivers had some huge drops that had Boyle settling for field goals and not touchdowns. I don't know if that's necessarily being out coached, but it seems that after all these meetings we should have some defensive game plan in place for Catholic. It shouldn't be a surprise anymore to anyone that their success comes from the pass in these games.

I wouldn't talk too much trash. Playoffs are right around the corner.

If they had a true shot why did they come to play football at UK? If their Sunday talent was that widely known before college wouldn't they have gone to a much better school for college football?

I don't know why they chose UK. Why did Barker choose UK or why did others choose UK? Could it have been they were big UK fans or maybe seeing the chance to get playing time sooner? There are a lot of reasons why players choose schools over other schools.

UK also puts players into the NFL, it's not like they are Dayton.

Isn't Chuck Smith supposed to be a great defensive mind?

Agree to disagree. I don't have the time or patience to waste my Sunday talking to you.

No.

It's good. I was just saying I don't know why they chose UK nor does anyone else

Outside their family I would

Bet.

They were apparently good enough to play DI football in the SEC so they couldn't have been that bad to begin with before they even got to UK.

You do understand no one has said he isn't a good coach. Some just may not give the actual players the credit that they deserve.

I'm curious. How good are the teams in Chuck Smith's district? I don't know and just am curious. Maybe there is a reason he is coaching where he is due to the competition level. I mean I don't think he walks on water like some do. Am I way off base here?

Yes. IMO, If you're applying that Chuck's only reason at Boyle is a soft district just shows what you know about Football in Boyle's districts over the years. 10 State championships with 3 different teams since Chuck arrived at Boyle.

I didn't say it was an easy district. I asked if it was because I don't know.

That is why I asked.

So Chuck hasn't won state every year then correct?

After thinking about it Danville also won a couple of Championships while in Chuck's Districts.

Name a team that has? If you didn't know than that speaks volumes on your high school football knowledge.

I was making a point that if he was that great of a coach then why hasn't he won state every year? Apparently this past Friday Night wasn't the only time the great Chuck Smith has been "out coached"

Walter Peyton went to Jackson St, Terry Bradshaw went to La Tech, Jerry Rice went to Miss Valley St. and on and on and on, so you think that there coaches at those schools are the reason they are HALL OF FAMERS??????? Get real dude come off your love affair with Chuck.
