I think HC will be very good, they are in what has become a very tuff district to get out of. With Holmes, ND and Beechwood which has a couple of nice players this becomes maybe the best district in the ninth, I know Holmes playes HC at the Finn and that is a hard place to get a win. I truly believe Holmes, Highlands and Ryle are the teams to beat, but with that being said I would not want to play HC in a first round game, great guards and well coached, Good luck to HC and all the teams in the ninth, would love to see back to back state champs from the Ninth region.

If you are a true fan of HC and you don't believe, you should sit this season out!

Help me understand - a HC fan that has a realistic assessment of the team isn't a true fan? I don't think HC will go 38-0 and win State Champ back-to-back, does that mean you don't want me going to the games or supporting the team? Anyone who doesn't agree with you isn't a fan?

N2thepaint, are you a new fan of HC or one the was ask to come to school there OOPS, I am not suppose to say that am I. RCC9 is correct when he says enrollment has gone up, you can turn a blind eye to it all you want but if a parent who has a daughter who has been planning on playing for HC since she was little and gone through the program to have someone just transfer in regardless if its been at the junior high level or high school level to have the transfer play over her is wrong. I feel for the child and the parents who's kids that's going to happen to.

On another note HC will be good this year top 5 not so sure time will tell, McClendon and Tucker are very good players who had a great supporting cast last year now that it will all rest on their shoulders the pressure will be different with teams really focusing on them. I love their determination and hustle they are winners and if they can get the rest of the team to feed off them they will do well but chemistry plays a big part on a team in my opinion and if they can get that then they will be a tough out.

How in the heck is that "wrong"????? My gosh, where does this sense of entitlement come from? Everybody gets a trophy, everybody makes the team, everybody gets playing time. Gheesh. Go join a rec league.

If a better player comes along, the better player makes the team and the better player plays. Period. End of discussion. No one gives a crap how many minutes you put in at the 4th grade level, no one cares what feeder school you went to.

This thread is starting to rival any of the new movies for entertainment value!

I don't believe in everyone getting a trophy and I can see 1 or 2 coming from different places to play for a school for whatever reason but this is to many in my OPINION.

So your problem is too many good players wanting to play at your High School? That's your problem? If Lauren Van Kleunen from Mason, OH moved to Latonia tomorrow and enrolled at HC, how is that any different?

Not at all, If it were a true assessment by another HC fan who has actually been to the scrimmages, etc., since the loss of the graduates. Honestly, I don't mind the assessments by those who have not seen them since March, they haven't followed the girls, just like we have not followed their players, unless we've seen them at a summer event.

However, I know who that is and I know he has not seen them all play together since state. I've been to every event and he has not been there. So, IMO his assessment can't be very accurate (for a fan who knows the team well) to say that he "would not put them in the top of the region" due to what we lost. I personally would not speak of any other team or player if I had not seen them play since summer. It's all one big mystery. ANY athlete on ANY team has the ability to be a different player than they were a week ago, not to mention a whole summer of training. And that goes for every team in KY. I think my comment to him was more how he got on BGP stating how he knew the team so well, then stated he would not rank them top of region, but again, he has not seen them since March?!?

If you are not a fan and you went by what you saw in March, I get that, and those assessments don't bother me. However, to state how well you know the team, players, etc. and you haven't seen them . I don't believe that's a true assessment (for a fan), IMO.

Key words "moved to Latonia" no one is moving there.

So tell us. Why will they be good? What did they do in the off season that would convince others that the departures in March will have any different effect than what his assessment says. So far, all we have from someone close to the program is that they "worked really hard." What did they do differently than the other top programs that is going to propel them up the rankings.

I'm curious to know if this comment is directed towards me, because I'm am close to some of the players and I have seen them play sense March I'm a huge HC supporter I was all the state games I was all but one all a state game I was at all regional games I was at all district games very rarely would I miss the regular season games! I'm also a logical fan of the game of basketball they lost a lot based solely on that there stock drops a little it's just like college ball and Pro ball the favorites in the beginning of the year are based on what returns and what left of was lost due to graduation. Again HC will be right in the mix of things in the end but this will not be the same HC as of late which is fine every team goes through graduation every team goes through injury HC will be fine and will be competing for the top when it's all said and done!

How 'bout those Indians? I can't wait to see what the season holds.

Hahaha. You are funny. What in the world did I start in this thread? Pointed out a few opportunities for the team, complimented players and said they are top 5! What in the world do you want? But if someone comes at me, I will answer back. Sorry you don't approve.

I don't approve of some things too, but I won't go there.
