I heard that 8 players (6 starters) did not play the 1st half of the game because they missed practice. I dont think they missed again.

That is bogus....they were not missing any key players. They simply had a bunch of turnovers and some stupid penalties and fell behind quickly.

 

I anticipate the Camels to be much better for the rematch in the final game of the season for Highlands.

I don't recall any missing players from the Camels in the Highlands game. Just Camels trying to get as many different players game time (which I totally disagree with). Ryle faced a Camels first team on both sides of the ball, something the Birds didn't see. The stupid undissaplend penalties I saw were the two blocking in the back by Highlands players on maybe two of the only plays that gained yards in the second half

But until the rematch the Birds are better. I would like to see a Raider vs Bluebird game. CovCath is great with Migunnis without?? Did Beechwood play CCath with him 100%?

Just my opinion. Freshman football is always a little hard to judge when comparing teams depending on how devoted the coaching staff is to development.

I would have to give the top spot to Beechwood.

With Aiden Camp back Conner will be a much improved team.

Haven't seen Cooper play yet but they play better by the end of the year. SK and Boone are more in the developing mode with SK needing experience and Boone needing more players.IMO

Beechwood did play against CovCath with McGinnis 100%, at least in the beginning, he got banged up by a spirited Beechwood defense as the game went on.

I remember McGinnis looking like he hurt his left arm on a hit early in the game but I thought it was closer to halftime. Was there some other injury besides that one or did that happen on the first drive and I am remembering it wrong? Regardless McGinnis played the entire game until he was hit on the play where he fumbled late in the game, with about 4 minutes to go. Then he came back in on the last play of the game at QB and threw an incomplete pass.

 

For those interested, Beechwood freshmen play Newport Central Catholic at Beechwood on Thursday at 6 pm.

There will be a Froshmore championship on Oct 29th. Teams and location TBA. As noted on an earlier thread, there will not be a Freshman championship.
