October 7, 201510 yr Maybe others knew this. I just saw it today. According to Skal's guardian the NCAA still hasn't ruled him eligible to play this year. He would not answer what they were looking into. The thinking is that they are still looking into the relationship with the guardian.

No different than if a player was ruled ineligible for taking money or if a player was kicked off the team for drugs. Or if a player suddenly was hurt (tear ACL in practice) after they voted. In many cases, the voting is done WEEKS -- sometimes upward of a full month -- before the team actually comes out. I'm sure the preseason magazines (which have already gone to press) mention Skal. I'm NOT a UK fan by any means, but it won't be "embarrassing" to have Skal in it and not have him cleared. The writers/publishers can't control that. And there's NO timetable writers/publishers/voters know about when it comes to NCAA clearance.
