Skal Still Hasn't Been Ruled Eligible

Featured Replies

Skal never played pro ball though, right? This is more academics?

Should be fine academically as he graduated from an accredited school. The problem will lie in the prep school he played for his senior year that was ran and operated by his guardian.

Some chatter a year or two ago that college assistants were saying his guardian was asking for donations for his program in exchange for a commitment. Not sue if any of it is true or what will be proven. BUT, I'm sure they are looking into if anything shady was going on and if he was paid improper benefits.

You can only do this so much before it comes back to bite you.

Do what exactly?

BTW, John Wall and Nerlons Noel went through the same process. So point to Kanter if you wish but he was the exception not the rule.

Even if the NCAA clears him...you still have to worry if they would un-clear him later for example like Rose

Cal strikes again!

You can only hope? Don't worry if UK doesn't get your team this year Vegas is right around the corner.

I wouldn't hope because I don't want it to be an excuse for another year without a title.

That same risk is present with every player that ever suits up for all college basketball teams, is it not?

Even if he's eligible and this team has zero injuries, there's a good chance they don't win the a title.

I guess so, but how often does the NCAA look at something and give a thumbs up then change their mind later...

They've done it once as far as I can tell....Derrick Rose. Which furthers my point. It's incredibly unlikely it would happen if/when they clear Skal. I'd say it's more likely to happen with Diallo and Kansas, but even there it would be highly unlikely.

Your team had Ole Roy coaching it so I look for another disappointing exit from the tourney. Remember he does less with more and his team is loaded this year.

No worries. Anything less than a Title is clearly disappointing.
