October 7, 201510 yr .. I'm not saying who WILL be the next coach, but I will tell you who hopes (dare I say, optimistically expects) to be the next coach at UL: Chris Mack. Dont think he can make it at that level.

Hard to see someone hitting the recruiting trail as hard as Cal does at that age. I don't think Pitino has that many years left in him even if this whole thing goes away.
October 7, 201510 yr I don't think Pitino goes anywhere, but if they self-impose a one year post season ban you may see Jurich dance with Texas regarding their AD position. If Pitino were to leave I would imagine a Mick Cronin, Chris Mack type would be on the list. I agree with Sean Miller being at the top of the list if and when Cal goes.

I never really considered Coach Mack as a potential Louisville coach, but I'd like to believe whenever it opens up there aren't too many coaches that wouldn't at least listen to Jurich. UofL is a bit of an interesting case study since they have only had two head coaches in the past 40+ years. Aside from his resume that speaks for itself, does Mack have any sort of connection to anything/anyone related to the university (outside of his bride being from the Derby City)?
October 7, 201510 yr If he had not taken the Iowa State job, I would say that Steve Prohm would have been a good choice to succeed Pitino. A couple of other names to look at would be Tony Bennett at Virginia and Jay Wright at Villanova. A choice to look outside the box would be to lure Bobby Knight out of retirement to come to Louisville. He would love nothing more than to get it on with Calipari on a yearly basis.

Fans of numerous college teams across the country were sorely disappointed with how well Stevens did in his first year with the Celtics. :lol2:
