October 20, 201510 yr It's gonna be interesting for sure. I just can't imagine Rick surviving this. Logically it is difficult to believe that he wouldn't have some knowledge that these things were going on. It's really not as hard as some people want to make it seem that he wouldn't have known. If it can be proven that Pitino had ANY knowledge of it, they will get rid of him. If UL says it will be better if they part ways with Pitino, he will leave. He's already said resigning would be the cowardly way out. And IMO, if he leaves now, to many that would be him admitting that he knew something was going on, even if he stepped down for the sake of the University.

He may say anything at this point to save his own face. He would have to have some sort of proof other than saying "Rick knew about it." You would have to have some kind of documented interaction with Pitino discussing the situation and either promoting it, or ignoring it.

What about possible scholarship reductions? If a coach only gets... let's say... 10 scholarship guys his first year, how high a hill is that to climb? Exactly how bad does it have to be for Louisville -- a program with a championship tradition, a dedicated fan base, and a boatload of money -- to have trouble with the top guys?
October 20, 201510 yr Biggest question that I have after watching OTL and other reports today is who told McGee (who was already gone) to contact Katina and have her and another go have sex with Blakeney and his Guardian at Embassy Suites while he was in Louisville for an AAU tourney. It would seem as if someone in Louisville (not necessarily UofL) would have to have contacted him in KC to make these arrangements. If that second person is ever named it will reveal much more about what has and hasn't happened.

Here's the thing (and maybe somebody has already said it - I haven't read every post). Is it (almost) as bad not knowing that this stuff was going on? What does that say about Pitino's leadership?

I think Louisville could get any top coach that is ready or willing to move from their current situation. I don't know how many will leave another top job to come to Louisville, even without this scandal. (Example I don't see Brad Stevens leaving Boston to run to Louisville even though he may be tempted to go to Duke if it were offered)

He's in the NBA and did quite well last season with a roster full of absolute nobodies. He's not going anywhere.

I just used him as an example...I think UofL is a good enough job that they will get a lot of attention for an open job. I just am not sure if the "Top of the wish list" guys are going to leave what they have and come.
