Yes, first varsity gig. Believe he was coaching in the middle school ranks. I've know him for a long time and he is a positive force and has the kids buying in. It's a great story! Super happy for him and the Mustangs!

Actually this was an "independent' contest.

 

While we are both (BB and Ludlow) Class 1-A we are in different district quadrants. Brossart with Paris, Nicholas County, Bracken County, and Berea, while Ludlow competes with Bellevue, Dayton, and Beechwood.

 

Brossart owns a win over Nicholas County, but will still play the remaining three teams to determine playoff status.

Congrats to Brossart. With that said I hope we can put a 1 in that L column for you next Friday night.

OK, you are probably not going out on a terribly long limb here.

However, to date we've done a great job playing them, and winning them one at a time. Paris certainly appears to be the superior entity. Many thought we wouldn't beat Bellevue, but we did. Many thought that Nicholas County would hand us a loss, but they didn't. On paper Ludlow appeared to be the better ballclub with the tougher schedule, but the Mustangs won that one too.

 

Right now we will focus on Bracken County, then we will get on the bus and go to Paris on the 16th. The Hounds will be big favorites, and IF they beat us they will have done nothing more than take care of the business of becoming the district's top seed.

 

As far as losing to the first team we face that is ranked above us, that is SHEER SPECULATION. Perhaps you are right. Only the state champion wins its last game of the season. Whenever this season comes to an end, we will lament that the run is over and then talk about this team forever. Right now we are 6-0 - and enjoying it!

Have you seen both teams in person this year?

I've heard Paris is athletic, but have not seen them play.

From an athletic perspective, Paris is probably 4-5 td's better than anyone in that district. It will be a huge game if both teams are coming in undefeated.
