Which of these NBA starting five's from different generations would win?

 

 

This is a tough one.

 

A strong case could be made for any of them, but I can't choose between the 90's or the 00's.

It depends on which era you take referee's from. Those 70's and 80's teams didn't play much D but could score buckets. The 00's team could lock you down and has some guys that could get it done on the offensive end.

My thoughts:

 

People over the age of 35 are going to pick a either the 60s, 70s, or 80s.

 

People under 35 will say it's either the 90s, 00s, or 10s.

 

Me, It's gotta be the 00s. Two of the best 3 players to ever play the game. The best PF in NBA history, and one of the 2 most dominate big men the game has ever seen.

Your argument above could be similar to the 60s. Two of the most dominant bigs in NBA history, a big guard that averaged a triple double and is in the discussion for greatest player ever, Mr NBA/Mr Clutch Jerry West, and HOFer Elgin Baylor.

It came down to 60's & 00's for me. Really tough deciding between those two.

 

I go with 60's.

Like others I'm really torn on this one but I'm going with the 60's. I am concerned about being undersized other than Wilt and Oscar. Russell may get pushed around as a 6'9" 215lb power forward but man that team would be hard to score on.

 

I think the 70's and the10's would struggle the most but would certainly not argue with any of the other 3 groups.

I think it is between the 60s, 90s, and 00s.

 

00s has the all time top 3-4 center, top 2 PF, best SF, top 2-3 SG and a top 5 combo guard in AI so I lean them and chose them. The 60s team is cold though.

Fixed it.

I think the 90s and 00s are both tough, but I got to go with the 00s. I think they are better at the PG and SF and near equal at the other positions.

Replace Thomas with MJ (he played 5 years in the 80's) and end this argument (Magic, Larry and MJ - along with McHale and Moses - yikes!)...the way they are constructed above, I have to go with the 00's team.

 

I am waiting for Papa to bring up the 50's team of George Mikan, Dolph Schayes, etc, etc, etc...

60's team is just psyk, Wilt was a force of nature along with the rest of that team they would be a tough out for any decade. Figuring you get each team with the players in their Prime, Wilt would be the most dominating player on any team.

 

The 70's would run your legs off and if you let up Doc would come screaming in from the wing with that 6" Fro flowing in the wind and dunking on everyone ABA style. In Kareem you have a near unstoppable offensive weapon add in Pistol and I think this would be the most fun team to watch.

 

That 80's team would be like the team of old guys at the gym that just seem to beat everyone, but no one can figure out how they did it.

 

I like the 90's team, but Malone, Barkley and Stockton would struggle to most of their counterparts on other teams. MJ and Hakeem could only carry them so far with no real shooting threat outside of Jordan.

 

00's could match up with any team man for man and IMO "Should" win this tourney of Champions

 

The 10's have great young players but ummm no they aren't winning this shootout of greats.

 

00's and 60's are the favorites but I like the make up of the 80's team a lot.
