Pope met with Kim Davis

Featured Replies

Correct, however, in this case her job changed and the change affected what she believes is her Constitutional right to practice her religion. A job change is quite different than this situation.

My point about all of it is all the people calling for her to resign, etc....doesn't matter, because she did and continues to do what she believes is right in God's eyes and not one person has been able to "force" her out of the job. Infuriating for some, but a legal quandry for the balance. That's all.

If she is so wrong, why hasn't she been removed ? Just a question...To answer your statement the change in her job apparently "does allow someone to disregard the new law" or else something would have been done. Would you not agree with that argument ?

The state has decided to not call a special session that would allow them to vote on having her removed. My guess is they don't want to touch this one but may have to when the regular session resumes.

But..is she still breaking the law? Licenses are being issued so is it a moot point?

Trying to wrap my head around what the significance of the Pope's meeting with Davis? Was the Vatican on the fence about homosexuality and gay marriage? If they were it would carry much more weight.

This is along the lines of showcasing Charlton Heston as a guiding voice against the gun regulation movement.

Agreed, we really are just back to arguing about the original issue again just in a different thread. :ohbrother:

I think it may be, since they are issuing. I think every politician in KY is sweating because they would have to come down on a side on this one, and none of them want to have to offend anyone who is of legal voting age.

The fact that the state doesn't want to call a special session should scream volumes about the lack of coconuts on the part of some....

Maybe. Maybe they don't want to spend the extra money for a case that seems to be handled and is , so far, limited in nature.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: Since when has lack of other peoples money EVER stopped a politician from being a politician?

I guess I figured that there would have been 1, just 1, on either side of this, that would have siezed upon the opportunity to wave the flag a bit higher....the deafening silence from Frankfort is odd on this opportunity, but it is a big election year....

There wont be a vote on getting her removed. The vote will be to either allow the clerks who object( there are alot) to opt out or the vote will be to put the licences online.

Best line I have seen so far about the Kim Davis/Pope meeting:

The pope also briefly met with Mark Wahlberg when in the US. That doesn't mean he endorses "Ted". :lol2:

Well well well well well.....

To the people that I sent a private message to about an email that I got from a contact over in, let's say Rome. Kindly look at the time I sent you the pvt.. As its just after my post above, all exactly 57 minutes ago.

Then, THIS, which was released by Vatican Radio 15 minutes ago, just over 50 minutes after I pvted and posted the above post..... :)

Holy See Press Office issues statement on Pope's meeting with Kim Davis Vatican Radio

So, Kim Davis and her "legal" team lied about what was discussed with His Holiness.

There may also be a little "reassignment" at the Nunciatures office.

Can't she just go away? If I never see her mug or read anything about her would be wonderful.
