Highlands is getting the benefit of the doubt. No argument there. They are down but when the question is posed "who else below Highlands would do better with their schedule...." the answer is no one.

 

I'd argue there are teams above Highlands who would have similar or worse results with the same schedule.

 

I also think that Pulaski County should be #1 but I'm fine with BG #1 .

 

The only thing I will say is the margin of their loses is pretty steep. Not having seen them play or any the teams they have played , it seems Highlands is seriously lacking a defense. If I was voting they would be out of the top 10 and made to work their way back in.....just like any other school.

No argument there and I agree with you. Highlands can rebound and make the state semis and they will still be disappointed in Ft. Thomas this year.

I like Greenwood in that lower tier group. I don't think they beat BG, but I do think they are a solid 2 seed in the District.

 

Has Highlands earned the 10 spot? No Do I think H will not win inside their class? No, I think CovCath is the only district team that can beat them, although I know nothing about Dixie.

I agree. I don't know how H is even in the top 10 with only 1 win against a bad team. It's kind of a slap in the face to the other 5A teams if you ask me.

 

Don't get upset Highland fans, just stating the obvious. It's just a down year for the Bluebirds. The only reason they are in the top 10 is because of their history. If history is what rankings are based off of them why have rankings each week in the first place?

Rankings should be based on who would win if all those teams played this week. Like DragonFire said, Highlands would beat most of the 5A teams if they played today. That is why Highlands is at 10.

 

They have yet to prove this.
