It is homecoming at Ludlow and there will be large crowds. If this is a close game, the Panthers might pull one out.

 

BTW, if you haven't been to a game at Ludlow; homecoming is the one to go to. I've been to many other homecomings and Ludlow's is one of the best :-)

 

Ludlow does Homecoming better than anyone. The administration, faculty, team, cheerleaders and students should all be commended for the event they put on. Parade, floats, a queen and a Panther win make for an outstanding evening in Ludlow. Panthers 28 Mustangs 20. Go Panthers!

I agree when it's stated "this game" should be their toughest test. But if you go back and look at Brossart's threads that same statement is made every week. Beating Bellevue was suppose to make them legit. Beating Nicholas Co was suppose to make them legit. No one gave them a chance against Aiken. If they beat Ludlow are they legit or does that sentiment follow them to the next week? I'm not taking anything away from Ludlow, they are a good 1A team, but so is Brossart.

 

Depends on what the definition of "legit" is. If they beat Ludlow are they a legit challenge to Beechwood? Absolutely not. Are they a legit team that could beat Paris and win their District? Yes they are. Are they Top 10 in NKY? Absolutely Not. Are they a legit team that could win a playoff game? Yes they are.

 

Fact is they can only play who is on the schedule when they come up on the schedule. The win over Bellevue was a nice 24-21 win, but Bellevue has not scored a point in three games since then being outscored 8-0, 41-0 and 23-0 by teams that are not top flight teams.

Well, if you play teams each week that are little better than the previous week, then each week is your toughest test, right? In my opinion, Ludlow is on par with Aiken and Nicholas County and both those games were close. This game should be another close one.

 

I am not sure what "legit" is. If that means a good 1A team, Brossart has already proven that. But we won't find out how good until they play Paris. That will be the game that shows us exactly where Brossart is in the 1A hierarchy.

Having no real expectations of anything more than a strong work ethic and 100% effort on our guys part coming into this season, and the fact that we are 5-0, albeit dodging a few bullets along the way, yet still finding a way to win, we are doing a great job of taking them one at a time and so far fate has been kind to us.

 

Beating Ludlow in the river city on their homecoming night, coming off of a loss, will be no easy task. I'm sure the Panthers are anxious to be the ones to bring us back to earth, hand us our first loss and probably capture from us our Class 1-A ranking.

 

Our team's confidence has soared over the past six weeks, and we have good players in each of the skill positions. Our defense has certainly been up to the task when they have needed to be. How good are we????? Don't know. We will probably know a lot more about ourselves at about 10pm on Friday night.

 

Regardless of the outcome, this is simply another practice game in Coach Paul Wiggins' scheme of preparation for our remaining district seeding games with Bracken County, Berea, and Paris.

I agree with you and labeling them "legit" was overstating. I would however consider them relevant in 1a competition and ranking.

I think this is a very good year for Brossart. Playing in tough games and getting tough wins help when you go into tough environments, like homecoming night. 20-17 BB ekes out the win.

Brossart football program is right where it needs to be in a division where they can play competitive football and a coach that fits their type of program and a field to play on. It’s been a long hard road for the football program and all involved with it, now we can all enjoy some football.

Ludlow if are there key players are eligible. Would like to see a brossart win, though.

Are they expecting some kids to not be eligible at Ludlow this week? That could be a deal breaker for them.
