Officer Tells Perp To Turn Around - Then Tazes Him

Featured Replies

I would certainly expect disciplinary action against the officer, I hope so anyway.

Let the perp zap him back?? LOL

It will be interesting to see what the reasoning for this is.

I guess I'm weird. This doesn't bother me

Can you (or anyone else really) think of any explanation that he could give that would justify it in your mind? I can't come up with anything, so I'm very interested to hear his rationale as well.

Ummm...can't see anything there that warranted that. I guess it's possible the guy muttered something to the cop as he turned around that got the cop mad/upset...but even if that is the case that's not a reason to taze someone except for very very narrow circumstances (threatening to kill the cop, something like that). And even then I don't know if that would be deemed excusable per policy.

Justified. The cop told the guy to fall on the ground and writhe around. The guy instead turned around and put his palms on the hood, disobeying a direct order. So the cop was merely helping him comply.

It just seems like every day there is a cop killed or some unnecessary use of force by a cop. very discouraging, tragic, and sad.

I usually agree with you on most things, but not this. This argument won't fly for the officer during the investigation and other matters that will Coke due to the result of of this.

But we will see.

Taser suggests a persons back as the best placement for use of a Taser.

With that said if someone is following verbal commands there's usually no need for a Taser. Not sure why this played out the way it did.

I keep forgetting to turn the "sarcasm font" on.

I thought it was obvious

I think it went something like this, "Listen, I caught you on grand larceny, if you turn around and let me taze you, we'll call it even. I don't want to fill out the paperwork." Oops, dang cameras.
