Having been somewhat involved at X, I can say that the decision not to admit is largely based on reading skills. If the test scores indicate a 4th grade reading level they will not be accepted. The feeling is that X can make up 2 years in 4, but not 4. The reading catches up as sophs because of the harder curriculum, foreign language, math, science , etc. with no study hall or PE. Maybe 10 or so a year.

As far as the game goes I hope it is close. I just don't see it for the Tigers this year.

That said, talking about how many kids St. X turns away sounds like an excuse. The football players I knew at Trinity were fine at academics and could've gone to school anywhere. Also, I haven't heard anyone saying that St. X lacks for athletes. Instead, the criticism on St. X has been about the coaching staff and the inconsistent performance of the team as a whole.

I took a look at all of them. Both schools look equal in size and numbers. I don't understand the point you're trying to make. Do you have some proof that St. X has less kids or athletes that are smaller on average?

Please explain this -- I do not understand what you are trying to say when I saw the Freshman/JV/varsity play last year from both teams.

Outside of the game and other rivalry talk, we all know a bunch of the guys go back to little league and grade school football. Tomorrow night is about the guys putting on the pads. Logan's story is one to remind all of us that many of the kids come from different backgrounds, circumstances and situations. Every player on both sides will create some sort of memory they will talk about for 50 + years. Best of luck to all the guys playing in the big Rivalry.

I didn't know that Robert Jones on your KHSAA sheet was Dalton Jones? Sorry for the oversight. Dalton and Jake had some good teams at St Edwards.

What about the others on the stat sheet or in the rotation? I know the Harpers from St Patrick- what about 42- Ahmed Johnson, 53- Robert Lewis, 26 Marcus Sides Johnson, I just don't know anything about them but the public school ones you gave me represent 79.2 % of the rushing carries, 80 % of the rushing TDs, 66 % of the receiving TDs, 80% of the interceptions, and 59 % of all tackles . You have some talented kids and thanks for enlightening all of us.

Robert Dalton Jones also played offensive line with Lococo and Reynolds on a few of the Toy Bowl Teams because he was over the weight limit.

 

Big WR for Edward back then was Woosley - he spent nearly all of his time at WR and RB because of his speed. QB was Connor Tessier who went to Eastern for basketball.

 

Franconia was another big player for that group on the way to 4 Toy Bowl trips. Key reserve for the Rocks at DE and playing on special teams.
