Unless they just lay a complete egg this year, I don't think they get rid of him.

Let me just say that Texas is not in the business of losing 38-3 in nationally televised games when their fan base travelled heavy to support their Horns. That loss was an embarrassment to Orange Bloods everywhere.

 

I think Jim's opening premise is a lot closer to accurate than not. Remember, there were some powerful donors that didn't want Charlie anyway. Texas can't lose to Ok. St. and TCU the way they lost to Notre Dame. Orange Bloods work with and see those alumni bases a lot more than they do Domers. They won't stand for it and Charlie will have the heat turned up on him.

 

I bet feelers are being put out already to Dabo Sweeney's people, Dana Holgerson's people and Gary Patterson's people.

I think there were other reasons for that.

Oh Charlie. You could have won an average of 8 games a year at UofL and they'd be making you into a statue.

I said it when he was at UL. He was very fortunate that he did find himself a future NFL starter at QB when he was at UL. I think overall his teams will have good defenses, however him being able to find a future NFL QB to start for him was much reason for his success at UL. He would have continued to do Ok at UL after Bridgewater left, but I think UL wouldn't have continued to see the same success.

The mistake (?) that Texas made was not bringing along the shady recruiter that Strong had at Texas that he got from Miami several years ago.
