So excited for the Cards football season to begin!

 

First game is this Saturday 9/5 vs. Auburn in Atlanta.

 

Auburn is ~10 point favorite. I’m hoping for an exciting and close game.

 

What do you guys think?

I'll take Auburn 24-14.

I'd love to believe Louisville has the guys and the plan to pull this off but I don't. Louisville is going to have a nice season and pull off at least one surprise in the ACC...

 

...but Auburn is a national title contender this year and supremely talented on both sides of the ball. If Louisville pulls this one off it would be a monumental upset. I just don't see how the Cardinals can get it done.

I look for the Cards to make this a much closer game than expected. As much for the way Petrino can put a game plan together as Auburn can sometimes fall flat on their face when they shouldn't.

I think L's defense might be stiffer than Auburn really expects. If L's offense can stay on the field somewhat and give the defense a little rest here and there, then I think UL beats the spread. I don't know about an outright win. To me, UL's new offensive line is the big question mark, even more significant than who the QB will be and/or who will catch passes. If the line is no good, then there is no passing game or rushing attack.

A lot of folks think Harvey-Clemons and Wiggins will come in and be brilliant right away but we just don't know... to say nothing of the other two secondary spots where anything could happen.

Auburn often doesn't hit it's stride until later in the season, so I could see this being a close game or even one UL may be able to steal.

The game is sold out. Any Auburn folks thinking there won't be a large sea of red will be sorely disappointed. I know a ton of people going.

I will take UL and the points. I don't think Auburn can cover a 10 1/2 point spread. I think UL coaching staff will have the team ready. I am not saying the Cards will win. I saying it will be a one score game.

I'm with Getslow. I REALLY want to believe the Cards can go down to Atlanta and get this win, but I'm afraid Auburn in the first game of the year may be too much, too early.
