Another great game against these two teams. Down to the wire as usual. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Camp Ernst had a great balanced attack and everyone contributed and really showed grit. Battling back from a late deficit. They have a good coach and are well disciplined and got solid contributions from the bench. Kevin Center's hit a big 3 to tie the game with only a few mins left and really swung the momentum.

Issac Sulter is continuing to play better and better. Hopefully the hand continues to heal. He was more aggressive and hit some good shots when they needed them. He has the potential to really dominate a game if he wants to. He has the talent.

Hunter Ahlfeld has continued to impress and seems to be making great strides this year. From the tip they tried to face guard him to take him out of the game but didn't have anyone that could guard him off the bounce. Seemed to have ton of steals as well.

Still no Huddleston, hopefully back after the holidays?

Finally get Jack Delagrange back next week I'm hearing.

Salter. Better camera man than a speller :D

CEMS / HHS game was very entertaining and exciting. Highlands trailed at half, opened up a lead early in third quarter. Kept the lead until late in the game.

Salter picked up five fouls, all in the second half. The last with 2 minutes left in the game which really hurt the Birds ability to rebound the defensive board. One trip CE got 7 shots before scoring.

A couple of calls/no calls really hurt the Birds down the stretch. Ahlfeld mad a steal with 28 seconds left and quickly headed up court. He was grabbed around the waist with two hands to prevent him from breaking free. Foul was called. It was a textbook intentional foul but the intentional part was not called. Key possession lost. The other was the final inbound. Play was designed to get the ball to Ahlfeld with 7 seconds left and the Birds down one. He was double teamed and broke toward the inbounder. He was grabbed and knocked to the floor. No call. Ball stolen. Game over.

Final score was 39-37

As an aside, I thought Kanarack retired from officiating. Didn't appear as so last night.

He made so many calls from the coaches box that I thought we had a three man crew at the HHS/CEMS game.

And here we go the refs were terrible I agree hell salter fouled out twice but for what ever reason they let him play. And as far as intensional fouls go centers was grabbed around the waist twice in the final 11 seconds and there was no intensional foul. So please don't take a great game and blame officiating yes it was terrible both ways

I was not at the game, but why is it every time Highlands has a close game or takes a loss, someone always complains about officials, other coaches or something that effected why they did not win, I heard they had dads cussing, storming out of the gym and one needed a police escort out, real discipline role models, 8th grade basketball at its finest when the Bluebirds enter the gym it appears.

I never said the officiating was terrible. I never blamed the officals. I think that's what you just did.

Did I post something that was not true? Was Ahlfeld not grabbed from behind? Was he not tackled at the end of the game?

If you want to give some perspective on the game, have at it. Site some plays that were key to the Blazers win. Don't insult me with the the ole' here we go again stuff.

Sorry your right u just implied that it was by saying the no calls for Ahlfeld and calls going for CE. My point is there was no calls all night that went both ways. And the big play of the game is when CE big man followed his own shot and tipped it in and got fouled went to the line and sunk the foul shot to take the lead

And I'm pretty sure the 3 that centers hit with around a min left to tie the game up was a pretty big part of the game also hell he got bumped after the shot witch was a no call

Must have been a good game - although from the posts, sounds like two different games were played. Anyone have video of any of the "grabs" that were mentioned.

I like the dads bragging on their own kids in these threads. And, NKY must have the best young men in the State. Lots of threads saying what "great" kids all these players are. Are these the same kids that complain to officials, gesture like their arm was cut off when they think they get fouled, complain when they block a shot but are called for a foul and talk smack the whole game to the other team?

What did the poster mean when he said "dads cussing" and "one needed a police escort out"? Did fans get thrown out? This is 7th grade basketball, right?

Funny, I know 5 (at least ) that are better and off the grid. It will all come out in 2 years. They play an all around game and make others better not just themselves. Again funny to read about some names. The others will win because they understand the game(team). And, and they will be appreciated and looked at by colleges not just this silly high school stuff. Just saying, don't take offense.

I am curious too. It is hard to stay "off the grid" in NKY and have nobody see you play?

"Off the grid" how? Not known? Not playing?
