From what I saw(sort of watching)

 

LC has more explosive skill players.

CCH is bigger across the front lines.

With Ryle rotating the RB's' date=' that means each one sits out a 2/3 - 3/4 of the time on offense, why doesn't McGregor and Bateman, play some slot. Or go gun divide and have two of those RB's in the game at the same time. What about gun divide with England and Bateman/Chisolm at Rb and McGregor at slot? Along with Jake Long at Wr. That would be scary to me if I was a D Coordinator![/quote']

Yes, we have an adundance of skill players. Not a bad problem to have but I feel for some of the kids who want to get on the field more. The rotations change and are sporatic. Eric could play and do well if given the opportunity.

I didn't see the first part of the game but Morgan looked shaky to me from what I did see in the second half. The Ryle running game more than made up for any struggles he had though. Strong. As Morgan geers up that's going to be a scary offense.

I didn't think he looked shaky, he did a very nice job hitting receivers on slant routes. One at least was for a TD.

I would agree that CCH is more physical but Lex Cath has more weapons with speed. Lex Cath has 3 kids that would equal McGinness and I think McGinness is a great player. They are both different styles so it is kind of hard to compare them. I think Lex Cath is better at this point although I have said in another thread that if CCH can just stay healthy through next week, they will come around and be hard to handle in 5A.

How good is Lexington Catholic ... really? We will get a better idea on that next week when they play Johnson Central.

 

Along the same lines, I am not sure how good Ryle really is. Two good wins, but how good?

 

Lexington Catholic looks pretty typical to me but I thought they were a little on the soft side. I think any team that plays LexCath, should spread them out and run right at them until LexCath stops it.

 

Ryle is doing what they have to do to win games. They look good but not great to me. They should have a lot of competitive games this year.

On the broadcast I had heard that students are part of the announcing crew. So if it seemed less than polished - that may be why.

 

I think that's a great idea. Frankly, it's better than the older guys trying to live a dream on Friday nights. In particular, "First Doooooowwwwwn. Knights!"

Let me add my praise for the video feed LC has going. That was something special for high school! Announcers didn't take away from anything as I expect a home team crew to be one sided towards their team. I would. I'll look forward to catching some more LC games this year.

Loved how Colin England cheered on his followed running backs when he was not in. Collin had some key runs. Adjustments on defense were awesome for rule. Dont know why lexcath didn't run the slant and go in 2nd half. Or the fade pass. They have super speed. Rule held lexcath to 3 points in 2nd half.

I thought so too. What I saw which was last several mins of 1st half and entire 2nd half, Morgan really seemed to struggle with his accuracy. Not what I expected. I did see several overthrows by him in 7on 7's but was convinced he's get the timing down and still looked like the best QB I seen before the season started. Last night however his deep ball he really struggled with. I'm sure he will

improve over time.
