doomer
I read an article that this is the place of upsets....Man O War and Secretariat both lost here following the triple crown.
Getslow
I love summer at Saratoga. As great as the Triple Crown is and as loaded as the Breeders' Cup always is, there's just something about sitting in late summer and seeing Saratoga and Del Mar results in the Racing Form. Before I die, I will see live racing at those two tracks.
75center
I'm surprised as I get the distinct impression that Baffert wanted no part of Saratoga with AP. I know the owners were pushing hard though.

The Bing Crosby music playing in the back round, the Mariachi bands performing in the infield with Margarita stands a plenty! It's worth the trip. 75center
Spent a week at Saratoga in the early 90's. Wonderful experience. Really enjoyed how close the crowd was able to get to the horses and jockeys as they walked thru. Didn't hurt that you were allowed to bring in coolers and grills either. Not sure if that's still permitted.

Getslow
When is this race? Saturday; late afternoon. NBC's coverage starts at 4 but I'd imagine the race is closer to 5:30.
Eagle2013
There's not much pace in the race. He could wire the field. Post time in 2 mins. I like Keen Ice or Smart Transition for 2nd.
Eagle2013
The streak ends! 1) Keen Ice (16/1) 2) American Pharoah (1/5) 3) Frosted (7/1) Upstart (15/1) completes the Super.

Randy Parker
These announcers are acting like the horse just died in the middle of the track. He's the Triple Crown winner, for crying out loud.
tcjkbt
Too much racing and too much travel for AP. This is what did him in. Baffert did not want to run him in the Travers but got overruled by the Zayats. He ran a gutty race though. Louisville-based trainer of Keen Ice, Dale Romans, has to be happy tonight. The total purse was $1.6 million, I believe.
ggclfan
Serious question as I am not a horse racing expert. Does AP losing a race negatively affect his stud fees? He is not undefeated any longer - still a TC winner though...
