Jumper_Dad
Nothing new about that. It has been that way for a long time.True, but with Mayfield in their way there was a pretty good reason that they didn't...no excuses now
BlueChip
I don't agree with this at all. Those days are in the past. Don't have the big lineman coming in to play and Coach Rash is no Coach Yeagle.
plantmanky
Sounds to me like a cop out in advance for when Beechwood doesnt it to BG the next 4 years.
colonel-fan
With Mayfield moving up, how could it not be considered easier?
plantmanky
With Mayfield moving up, how could it not be considered easier? Because Beechwood cant beat the teams Mayfield could.
Voice of Reason
True, but with Mayfield in their way there was a pretty good reason that they didn't...no excuses now Trust me, it was a huge letdown losing to Mayfield and not winning a title. Even when Mayfield was in 1A, Beechwood expected to win titles and any time they didn't it was a let down. At Beechwood, anything short of a state title is a let down regardless of who they lose to, including Mayfield.
Redemption
Definitely easier. The ultimate goal is to win a State Championship, and with that being the goal the path to win a State Championship is definitely easier. It seems if someone is to suggest otherwise is just trying to calm the talk on Beechwood being the heavy favorite to win it all now.

Every team is 'let down' when their season ends without a state championsip.

bjaynes
The thread is about Beechwood so the letdown was specifically in reference to Beechwood not winning titles. Yes, many teams feel the same way but there are those that are glad the season is over. I am as clueless as VOR regarding the "bubble" but I will try harder to keep up. gchs_uk9
If the current alignment stays intact for 10 years I could see Beechwood winning 7 or 8 titles. That will be interesting to watch. Beechwood is the second largest school in 1A (behind Fort Knox) and had a four-year average boys enrollment of 188.5. The smallest 2A school was Trimble County with an enrollment of 209.8, a difference on average of roughly 20 boys. In four years, will Beechwood grow enough to get bumped up to 2A? That's a decent sized gap.

That may become a factor in the number of 1A teams and could impact Bw
