BIG Ohio State news

Featured Replies

I am for kicking all of the druggies off of the team. As far as the VA. Tech game goes. Buckeyes still win by at least 24.

There wouldn't be college football if they booted all Mary Jane users.

Good for Urban. He was really loose at UF IMO, but glad to see he's setting a higher standard at OSU.

Did Urban suspend Gators for weed?

Hernandez for one game.

Hernandez for one game.

Was going to be for 4 games but after Hernadez "talked" to coach it went to one game....only one because Hernandez had to take care of some things that weekend...

Is this an OSU testing, or an NCAA testing. Rocky Boiman was on WLW today and said all players get tested in preseason. The way he talked, it seemed like an NCAA thing. But, he never elaborated.

I do think the talk about Urban laying down the law is hilarious. I have some die-hard OSU fans who absolutely hated the guy when he was at Florida. Now, all the sudden they have amnesia of all their vile.

He's the same guy. What happened at Florida will happen at OSU, good and bad. He can recruit, coach, and win games. No question. But, let's not pretend he's wearing a big badge around Columbus proclaiming there's a new sheriff in town.

I say this with no ill will toward OSU. I hope they win the big 10 every year (unless it's one of those wacky seasons when Northwestern has a chance).

The local news out of Columbus said it was an Ohio State testing.

It is an OSU thing, don't let the above haters rile you. If their SEC teams were tested we would see the same thing. Meyer will randomly test the entire team a few times per year.

Kinda like suspending a QB during a redshirt season...

If Urban is testing during the preseason, he should schedule a cupcake (Akron, Rice, BG, etc.) the FIRST game of the year in case this happens:)...

As a Buckeye football fan I am Certainly disappointed. I do absolutely love how Urban is running a strict discipline and being consistent with it. Anyone can tell by these names that it doesn't matter who you are, if you screw up then you pay the penalty. Hopefully this will send and get the message across to these guys along with the rest of the team. I do feel that the Bucks will have enough to win this one without these guys but they shouldn't have to be put in that situation, their teammates here put them there. Every pre season in practically every program it seems that there will be some kids that push the limits....see how far they can go.

Nothing frustrates me more than this kind of thing. These kids have got the talent and opportunities that countless kids around the country would give anything to have and they go out and "P" it away. Yes, I know they are still college kids but the athletes in these big time programs are and imo should be held to a higher standard. Athletes at any school / program around the country have a spotlight on them and every move they make. Whether o not that's right or wrong doesn't change the fact. A free college education alone is more than enough incentive not to act like an idiot, do things right.

Oh well, that's just one of my main pet peeves ... I'm off my soapbox now.

GO BUCKS .....

As a Florida State fan, I get a little disgusted when I think about how much of a pass Urban Meyer gets with discipline issues with his team. Jimbo Fisher seems to get a lot of grief from people when it comes to his players making mistakes, but all of Urban's teams have had numerous discipline issues and he gets a pass it seems like.

You lost us all at "As a Florida State fan" in regards to discipline and player conduct.

Saw somewhere that OSU was considering alcohol sales at football games. They were estimating $1M in revenue per game.

Urban caught a lot of flak at UF for the issues his players had.
