Bracken County 2015/2016

All Kentucky grown, the Coach Miles era is over. And nobody really knows all the rules about transfers and eligibility. There's probably a loophole somewhere in the system.

What's your problem? Are you one of those big school guys that gets their feathers ruffled when the smaller schools have an opportunity to be very successful for a couple years and knock the powerhouses off the pedestal for a yr or two.

Why so much sarcasm and hate towards the Bracken Co Polar Bears?

As far as being released if they don't live in that school system anymore I don't see where being released is relevant. As long as everything is done by the book I don't see an issue :idunno:

In the case of a transfer, permanent change of residency or guardianship is one piece, the gaining school has little say, the school being transferred out of does and typically a written letter from that school's AD goes with the review by KHSAA.

Do not look for any changes at this time, not saying it couldn't, but highly doubtful

Well you've been around Mason County basketball for quite sometime, please explain to us how your transfers usually get eligible.. give parents jobs inside the school system? Or?

Mason has had very little transfers over my years. Some have moved and some lived with relatives. I believe you need to ask someone in Northern Ky, Louisville or Lexington.

Who will be Coach Hinsons

assistants and have they filled the athletic directors position yet?

Or better yet, someone from Region 14.

Thought I'd stir this thread back up since there was more talk on the Mason County thread about Bracken than there was Mason. Any extra thoughts on the Polar Bears?

This could be the end to their 16 year championship drought. Last district in 98-99, last All A region 97-98. Haven't made it too the regional finals since 1955.

Being young and inexperienced/coaching can no longer be an excuse. The Junior class that many have been talking about since 8th grade is no longer young. And they arguably the best coach in the region. If Hinson stays with this program for a couple decades his name will beside people like Jarvis Parlsley in Bracken County sports history. It's a great time to be a Polar Bear!

I don't think there is any question that Coach Hinson will have them as well prepared as possible. The game preparedness and X's and O's, will no doubt be there. Probably the biggest hurdle will be instilling the focus and determination that is necessary to have a winning culture. And in all fairness to Coach Hinson that is not an overnight process. Any team can say, we will be a different team in February than we are in December, but I think that especially holds true for this squad.

Like many, I am looking forward to some high-quality 39th District action this season!

I picked them to win the Region as soon as Coach Hinson arrived. Anything less would be unacceptable.

Hmmm! I doubt your sincerity just slightly!

Heartily sincere. I stated my reasoning in the 10th Region thread. All valid.

I DEFINITELY need to make it to the Igloo on 12/8, to A-town on 1/13, or both.

The burning question - will someone from Mason County be welcome? Will I have to go undercover?

You always have a seat with me Papa anywhere. Even at Knights games.

I find it humorous that people think Bracken Co is considered a 10th Region Championship team. Cmon guys, these players aren't the ones Hinson had at Augusta. They haven't experienced sucess or really been under pressure when it matters. There's a lot of things that needs to happen before you can consider them a 10th Region Championship caliber team. They could very easily be a 1st round knock out in the All-A, Paris will be no means a cake walk for anyone this season.

Disguise yourself as All In- secondary benefit- they might let you in free to avoid the hassle over price of admission.
