SC Flag Flap

Featured Replies

It's politics. People sell out their beliefs to win elections every single election.

Very true. Sad but very true.

The comments are fascinating.

So...this question keeps coming back to me...

Why, if the Stars and Bars is "only" a battle flag, would it be chosen over the official flag of the CSA to be flown over Southern Capitols. That (to me) says a lot about the true intent of flying the flag...

If a sense of patriotism to the "Confederate States" is what the intent is, why choose a battle flag?

I can't get past the point that the choice seemingly is weighted heavily on the battle, not the solidarity of an independent Southern "state".

The comments are fascinating.

"Unforgivable sin??"

:lol2: :lol2:

Uh....yeah.

So you didn't support Clinton/Gore either?
Those buttons are obviously fakes .

I read they were put out not by the campaign, but by Democrat Supporters of Clinton and Gore. I guess they thought their target audience would respond positively to that image.

My best guess would be the buttons were ordered by GOP frat boys at an SEC school to create a ruckus.

I have zero doubt that it really is your best guess. Mores the pity.

Of course you would think that... :lol2:

I bet they were made and passed out at a private high dollar campaign event similar to the one that Romney was videotaped pandering to rich donors in the last election.

If you have specifics to shoot down my speculation, then please share your legitimate source instead of simply saying "I read ..." If not, then my speculation is as valid as yours.

Why would they pass out buttons with the opponents name on what all democrats assume would be a republican friendly design?

It doesn't matter what you are shown, you will always find a way to attempt to turn it around. There is a campaign button from 2012 made with a quote From President Obama where he mentions building a coalition where the Confederate Flag still flies...the quote is his and the button was made to drum up support for him in the south. But I'm sure you will just say that Republicans went back in time 3 years and made it to embarrass the President this week.
