SC Flag Flap

Huh?

You implied that Republican made those Clinton buttons with the flag...I just asked why they would make such buttons? Especially since all republicans are racist, why would they sully a good confederate flag to put Clinton's name on it.:)

As I said before I don't think the campaign directly made these, but some good ol' boy democrats trying to drum up support for their candidate in the south did it.

There are Redneck Racist Democrats too...

Nah, you misread my post. I'm saying the Clintons made them and passed them out to Clinton supporters at a private high donor dinner similar to the one that Romney attended when he was caught making questionable statements on video during the 2012 election. I'm saying and recognizing that there are redneck racist democrats. Read my post again. I should have been more specific I guess. I'm 100% certain that Clinton held private dinners just like Romney and every single POTUS has done.

Not many of 'em left south of the Mason-Dixon line. Dixiecrats are solidly GOP these days.

Not sure geographic spread but democrats still outnumber republicans by almost 50% in KY.

Look at it at a local level...a good deal elected officials in Eastern KY are solidly Democrat. For every EKY County with a GOP majority there are 4 or 5 with a democratic majority. The fact that counties with in some cases 90% Democratic registration still voted for a the Republican, may hint at the reason they didn't support a black Presidential Candidate. In an election where the Dem Candidate received and overwhelmingly high percentage of Democratic votes across the country you have to wonder why that trend didn't carry over to Counties like Wolfe (90% Dem registered voters), Letcher (75%), Knott (95%) and many others with equally high Democratic registration, voted against President Obama.

^ I don't doubt for a minute that there are overwhelming electorates comprised of registered Democrats. There's a difference between being a Democrat on paper and being a Democrat in action.

But yet Kentucky has primarily voted Republican since the 1950's unless a Southern Democratic candidate was running (Clinton and Carter....yep Kentucky voted for Carter!!). Kentucky is as solid a Republican State as there is.

Look at our governors and tell me again.

That can be said for many people from both parties.

Sure it can.

But a specific argument was being advanced that eastern Kentucky is heavily Democrat and heavily racist.

Look at our governors and tell me again.

Yep the Governors spot is overwhelmingly a Democrat. I don't know the answer (I'm not from KY and not familiar with it's political history, especially at the local levels), but what causes such a wide difference?? Why at the Presidential level, KY is such a staunch Republican state, but more likely to vote Democrat at other state and local levels of government.
