I don't mean to be a naysayer on high school tournament baseball, but some reasons that I find it hard to follow the state tourney are weather delays, restrictions on pitchers, times of day when games can or cannot start, when innings can or cnnot start, arbitrary times for make-up games, etc. If you're connected with a team these may not bother you but to a casual fan they are somewhat annoying. I understand that they come with the territory but they nonetheless detract from the tournament experience IMO.

 

Nothing happens or goes on in the tournament that is anydifferent from the regular season.

Did anybody else play today besides Highlands and McCracken Cty?

Judging by BGP chatter, no other games were played....

My prediction came up short today vs E-Town. Rough showing for my Eagles as errors, passed balls and runners left on base doomed them all day. I dont feel like this was representative of the team that i watched most of the season, but thats how it goes on the big stage. Hats off to E-Town and good luck to the remaining 8 teams!!

Looks like Scott beat Knott County Central and the Eagles beat E-Town. For the life of me, I thought there were 4 games plus a make-up game from the day before yesterday. Guess not.On to the second round.

The 10th Region (Scott) has been slated for the 8:30pm game on 6/2 since the draw came out. All games have been played in the order they were supposed to.

Don't know. These are just inherent problems.

I know the 10th was scheduled for that game. Just like the 9th was scheduled for the 8:30 game on Monday.

 

My question is why are they scheduled like that as opposed to just scheduled straight down the bracket, like the basketball tournament?
