This is Walt we're talking about. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if he thought those guys were the answer.

On a positive note Phil Ervin is absolutely destroying the ball so far this year. He had a horrible season last year coming off of wrist surgery but was regarded as a top 100 prospect or close to it back in 2013 when the Reds took him in the 1st Round. The Reds need him to have a bounce back campaign. So far he's hitting .343 with an OBP of .420. He has 6 doubles, 6 HRs, 14 RBIs and 5 SBs so far in only 19 games played.

 

Alex Blandino the 1st round SS from last year is also off to a hot start. He's hitting .250 with an OBP of .355. He has 3 doubles, 1 triple, 3 HRs and 10 RBIs. Also he has swiped 3 bags and walked 11 times on the season compared to only 6 Ks.

 

It would be nice if these two can become the elite prospects that their 1st round draft statuses indicate they could be. Pair them with Winker, the young arms and some pieces acquired in a deal for Cueto and possibly Chapman and the future looks at least somewhat promising.

I used to respect Walt and thought he made great moves in St. Louis and Cincinnati. But since about the trade deadline last year, I would have to agree with you.

The thing with Walt is he's never had prospects ready to come up in a time of need even in STL. He was a decent GM who struck gold with Pujols. Mozelak on the other hand has built the Cards and has a system full of them.

Honestly, it's just too lofty a goal to think that we could sweep the lowly Brewers at GABP at this point. So, as Meatloaf pined, "Two out of three ain't bad."

This Reds team has to be on of the baseball"dumbest" teams ever. From not making the simple, every day plays to a manager that at time seems lost. I don't know if it is the players lack of concentration, manager making/putting a different line up and batting order seemingly every day with that leading to players unsure of their roles or what. Should things remain that way for very long then it's the Reds / Brewers fighting it out for last place.

Someone had better take charge and light a fire in some players in that clubhouse and do it soon.

I have little faith in Price as a manager but I'm not ready to throw in the towel on this season. There are not any great teams and the Red's are one of many mediocre teams that at least have a chance. Why follow this team if you are ready to give up on the season after the first month of six. They haven't even played one game out of their division. Their division is supposed to be the best top to bottom in the league and they basically are .500. I would like to atleast give it until July until I decided if I blow up the rest of the team. If Price stays out of the way and a couple relievers start to do their job then they have as good a chance as anyone.

At least I was able to get us back on track by winning the series. Would have been nice to get the sweep.

Yes, everything is included in the ticket. You get all the food, soft drink, beer, liquor, wine, etc. you want. Also get early entry into the stadium, waiter service at your seats, and they serve alcohol until 30 minutes after the final out.
