April 15, 201511 yr A long time ago, there was a Bonanzas at the current location of Rio Grande Newport. Way, way back around 1987 there was a fast food Mexican restaurant called Santigos in the current Newport Taco Bell Location. Santigos was great as well.
April 15, 201511 yr This thread prompted me to get on over to Rio Grande again this weekend because it's been far too long since I've been. Aside from decent food and decent prices, their service is second to none. Those guys kick butt making you feel welcome and appreciated. Their friendly motors never stop.

After Bonanza there was a sports bar in the location called Divots. My family and I effectionately refer to Rio Grande as Mexican Divots.
