Cardinals @ Reds series (4/10- 4/12/15)

Cingrani - get the bunt down. Make the 3B field it.

BP - ditto

Replay has to be better. A - don't think there was conclusive proof to overturn. B - IF THERE WAS conclusive proof, you have to put the runners back at 1B & 2B. You put the defensive team in the impossible position of not paying attention to the umpire actually making the call. Home plate umpire is signaling safe, so Frazier assumes it is a force play and fires it across the diamond for the DP. Also, if he was tagged, everyone on the Reds (including dugout) should have been screaming TAG, TAG, TAG when the ball goes down to 3B If you watch the replay, you'll see the STL runner slides across the base (what does he care? He has just been forced out). If the ump is signalling he tagged Molina, Frazier either gets prepared to tag him or tags him on the overrun of 3B. Completely unfair to the players. Right call, if they were going to overturn the call, was to put the runners back to 1B & 2B.

Reflexes, but Meso has to know better than to even try to tag him. Keep the force in play at 3B and get the out. If you can't get the DP (but with Molina running, you have a real good shot at it -- of course with Molina NOT running, it is a peice of cake).

What a mess that replay was. You call Molina safe (Menaing Meso missed the tag) then Fraizer doesn't have to tag the guy at third. That changed the entire play base on the way you ruled.

I read Price was clear to say it was a dirty slide but Heyward was not a dirty player. Heyward supposedly apologized immediately.

I don't think Heyward meant anything by it either but have no problem with a manager sticking up for his guys. Maybe this will be the spice this rivalry needed.

3 good games and didn't really feel like the second series of the year.

I liked to see Price get run yesterday. No umpire on the field signaled that Jay was HBP so why did he get first base? The Reds shouldn't have to use a challenge on a play where the umpire made no call.

Officially ejected for "delaying the game."

Beautiful day. Funny that row I is the 4th row. Really neat guy Sherman an usher sat down next to me and watched an inning. Great conversation about the game

It's tough when the JV plays the Varsity.

So no one bustin Jumbos chops? He sucked yesterday

Gregg is stealing the show currently.

That 8th inning man has become so important in baseball. It looks to be the Reds' achilles(one of them anyway). Having a guy who can get you to your dominant closer is the difference between a bunch of wins and losses.

True but only because Managers let it become that way. There is no rule that Chapman can't pitch the 8th AND 9th inning. Or enter the game in the middle of the 8th inning if he is needed. Why would you have an "8th inning guy" pitch to the 3-4-5 hitters in a game and have the "Closer" pitch to the 6-7-8 hitters in the 9th?

Price not happy with Heywards slide and promised retribution. Heyward came in late but I personally didn't think it was that bad.

As soon as Heyward popped up he tried to grab him and you can tell he didn't mean to slide that close to him.

Seemed that way. Pena was moving down the line. Had anything went down he would have been next man in.
