Would love to have Newman, as he looks like the best scorer in the class, but something tells me he's more likely to go somewhere like Mississippi State where he can play all the minutes he can handle and shoot his arm off. . With Ulis and Briscoe, he's more of what Kentucky has, an undersized guard. Obviously, I'd love to have him, and think it could work, but I don't think the fit is as right as it'd be for him at other schools. He does seem to speak highly enough of Kentucky, but it'll be interesting to see if that translates.

Obviously a great point guard wants to play for cal, but the roster looks full. He could easily go somewhere else for the year and all would be fine.

He's sacrificed a lot to play on some very talented teams, and that's something that I can really appreciate. Especially since he's apparently kept his head down and went to work. On a personal level, he's also gave an appearance that he's mature (i.e., not photobombing) and seems to have a nice sense of humor too (video ad he did with Barnhart). Definitely one of the guys in his years here who could have went to a different school and been the centerpiece there, so you have to respect what he's given up and he's a guy who'll be one of my favorite Cats to follow in the pros whenever he takes his shot at them.
